When you don't cook that much..

Rummaging my fridge last week because we bought a new fridge *ahem* to store my extra EBM and found this -->

A pack of yellow onion turning into spring onion!

I should have plant them so I can get the real spring onion

This just show how long I didn't cook. Or didn't bother to clean my fridge. Now come to think about it I wonder how many months it has been. Hmmm..

Not only that, we also found unopened pack of soft Milo expired in 2009! Such a waste!

This is not our first time having a sprouting onion like that, but throwing away dry food  is unacceptable! I have to check all the cupboards in my kitchen this week.

Yummy Belanga

We went to MidValley Megamall last weekend to join Tatty and the fellowship for little gathering. Reached a bit late because Zahra was napping and hit the road around 3PM under the hot scorching sun. We were roasted because the car air-cond decided to fail on us that day!!! I was contemplating to proceed with the meet because it's freaking hot but since we already in the car, we just made it.

Went to my PIL's house, tried to change the car with them but coincidentally both cars are in used. What a day!

Since it's already late and we still hadn't our lunch, I was pretty cranky. I mean, being hungry and hot sun is not meant to pair right? As usual we'll be contemplating where to eat and will leave to each other to decide and that's when I saw Belanga and I said, "let's Belanga!". I was pretty excited because I remember reading somewhere that they serve delicious food.

But the moment I sit and scan through the menu, I was pretty disappointed because I was thinking Belanga is serving Thai food, or northern food, where actually they are Kelantaneese food! Not that I have anything against it, it is just Aidiladha just over and I had too much Kelantaneese food already at my hometown. So I just settled for a simple order, nasi putih with oxtail soup while MrComot had Nasi Lemak and oh boy! their food is delish!

The nasi lemak with ayam goreng! I find it's tastier than the famous ever Village Park nasi lemak.

The oxtail soup! Yummy but I've tasted better (gerai tepi jalan kat Brickfields!) but still good enough for me.

Es Teller. Shaved ice with avocado, jackfruit, coconut, some jellies and buah kabung. Super yummy! Love this to bits!

Overall it is a satisfying meal and I want to try other menu again next time. Or maybe I can have their nasi lemak again! Soooo sedap! It's hard to find delicious nasi lemak nowadays. Most of them have this standard taste that can be beaten easily by nasi lemak bungkus seringgit dua puluh sen.

Oh ya, since it is a Kelantaneese shop, they have nasi dagang, the famous nasi tumpang, nasi kerabu, lompat tikam, etc.

Zahra already had her lunch at home, so I just give her mineral water. It's easier to go out with her nowadays since she can have normal food already. I gave her mineral water and some plain rice that I'm having, didn't have to rush to nearby nursing room like I'm used to do. Food is a power tool of distraction hehehe.

It's Saturday so have a good weekend everyone!!

Big Bad Wolf 2010

An overdue post.

Thanks to my dear friend, Fiena, I managed to go to BBW this year! Last year I went with MrComot and was heavily pregnant that time, it was nearby btw, at Amcorp Mall, but this year, hosted at South City Mall Seri Kembangan, it will be mission impossible for me, because it's quite far and MrComot doesn't want to squeeze in with Zahra along. So I didn't put any hope in joining the crowd but luckily I was on leave that day (Zahra's babysitter wasn't well) and Fiena also on leave! She picked me up and drove us there, yeay!

We went on the first day and it was weekday, but the crowd is there already, not to the brim, but we still had to queue!

Stroller is a no-no when you go to thrifty party like this. Not because to easing me grabbing everything but I don't think it's appropriate to shove your stroller when people are rushing in a sale like this. I feel that it will offend the book lover if I bring stroller in, because I will. And maybe you are not even allowed to bring it in, I didn't see any notice about it by the way.

Quite clear, but till you see the payment line. It's insanely longgg! Fiena helped to queue for us while I go for quick lunch *ehem thanks darling! snif snif* and furthermore because Zahra already restless and wants to be out of the pouch. She was so sleepy actually but refused to sleep because so many people around her, so she's throwing tantrum instead.

I had to let her out for a while and see what she's doing. Climbing the table! She even made friends with the auntie who are sitting on the floor selecting her books.

Overall, the book is very cheap. All the fiction novels go for RM8!! Including the latest edition. And I can see piles of J.Grishams, J.Picoult, S.King, N.Roberts, N.Sparks and so on. I went gaga over them but decided to buy any because I don't I will read that soon. I bought The Gatecrasher by Madeleine Wickham (also known as Sophie Kinsela in Shopaholic series) and guess what, Cocktail For Three is also there at RM8 when I just bought it few months ago for Rm35.90! *cried*.

Also bought few books for Zahra and they are freaking cheap at RM5 each. Hard cover, interactive, colorful - very good quality. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to rumble all the selections because Zahra dah rimas so dia pusing sana sini in the carrier and merengek2. So I just grab a handful that I like - The Poppy Cat series!

There are 4 stories actually but I didn't manage to find the last one titled Goodnight, Poppy Cat. Too bad..because it will be a perfect piece for me to tidurkan Zahra ha ha ha. I think it was there, somewhere under the piles but I couldn't dig any longer, my poor princess was very restless.

It was a very good sale that I wish I can spend more time there digging and finding. I even missed the magazine section (was thinking to grab some craft magz). And how I wish it was nearer so I can go there on the 2nd, or 3rd, or 4th day.. I promised myself that I will go to BBW next year, only that without Zahra Elena! Or maybe she's gonna big enough that time that she also can help me digging the books ;)

Slurrrpeee baby

I'm quite buzy today, hence this short update. I tried to give Zahra Elena water via straw and she manage to drink it! Yeay! Terer la sayang mummy ni haha. I know baby can suck, but I never know they can suck using straw.

Bought the BPA free munchkin bottle. The straw is chewy-soft, suit baby very well and it has valve inside (thanks to Tatty, me learn from u hehe), so the water won't spill when she plays with it. The body is curved in the middle so your baby can hold the bottle by himself. So far she likes it so much and I can use it as a tool to make her sit still in the baby chair. Maybe you can try it as well ;)

I want a popcorn machine!

Just something random.

I was browsing using my phone and found this site :- http://www.epopcorn.com/ and makes me want this so bad!

Yes, I want a popcorn machine!

We no more go to cinema for movies because nobody can babysit Zahra (or is it because we can't leave Zahra? Whatever but I don't want to bring her to cinema as well!) and since connection is super-fantastic *ahem* we end up downloading all the movies. But it never be the same because we end up cuddling and not eating anything. Not that I feel comfortable munching snacks on my bed anyway!

So am thinking it will be nice if I have a popcorn machine at home, so I can pop the corn whenever I like, even for lunch, dinner, brunch, anytime! So casual and stylo! Seee see see what a junkie wishlist ha ha ha.

Nevermind, I still want to buy it if I get bonus next year *pray pray pray* because I heard that there will no bonus for us next year *sobs*. I don't know, it's pretty sad don't you think so? Not getting a bonus and a popcorn machine.

Anywayyyyy...if I manage to buy it, I want to make cheddar cheese and jalapeno pop-corn! Yummy yum!!!

My 10-months Sleeping Beauty

I was on emergency leave last Thursday and Friday because Zahra's babysitter fell sick. It's only me by the way because MrComot had this important meeting and tell you what, it's mentally and physically challenged to take care your own kids!

I seriously pening kepala ok haha. Not that she is being hard or what, it's just all she wants to do is play play play and I wonder where all the energy came from. It's even tougher at feeding time because she will ZAP! tepis my hand and there...all the mushy blended porridge splashed on the floor, and on the toys, and on her cloth *pengsan*. But I made a record by not being angry with her, shouting or yelling or snapping her hand *opss* (I pernah pukul tangan dia sekali before sebab bengang sangat haha). Anyway my mom told me not to get angry easily or raise my voice because she will grow up as a bitter person or another word - DEGIL! KETEGAQ!

So because I don't want her to be a bitter person, I am holding myself very well I guess, whenever she snaps the food, I will just say, "Zahra, no.." with a firm voice and take a small damped towel, wipe all the excess on the floor *sobs sobs *.

Anyway one thing I love being on leave is I can wake up late! Hehehe. We woke up around 10-11am for the whole 5 days, and there was this one day I am so lazy to attend her, so I just BF her whenever she awakes, so she will be back sleeping (I know it's a mean trick, but I think she likes it as well, lazying with mommy on the bed, just make sure you don't forget to change her nappy, kalau tak kesian ok) and we woke up at 12pm!

As for the result, my pwincess is verrrrryyyyy sleeepy today when we had to wake her at 8am. She was so sleepy that she refused to wake up even when I lift her and put her on the ABC mat to change her diapers! That is so abnormal of her.

This is her first time being like this, sleeping on this mat!

Kesian budak kecik tu, can't hold the eyes. But she wakes up the moment I wipe her with the cold wet wipes :P

My baby also turns 10 months last week, so happy 10-months sayang! No other progress, pretty much the same only she baby-talk more this few days and likes to put her hand into the mouth and move it up and down while saying aaaaaaaaaaaa so that the sound come out vibrated. Get it? It's like when we say aaaa in front of a table fan :P

On her food, the menu still the same, I still didn't introduce her with egg yolk, later lah..kemalasan.

What else? Oh ya..her current favourite vocab is mamamamam (but I don't think she's referring it to mommy literally). Previously was dadadadada and the first one is aabooooooo! Hehe. Now that she doesn't want to say another thing than mamamamam, I miss her aboooooo..

Below is Zahra Elena and daddy before we stepped out for work. Daddy is holding himself from squeezing her like lemonade - geram! Haha..how cute!

Totty totty totty daddy!

The 5 days break definitely make me miss my baby more than ever. Masa lunch pun I keep on saying to MrComot, "rindunya kat totty!!". Can't wait for this coming Aidiladha. I already applied for leave on Thursday and Friday, so another long weekend for us!

My Wedding Album is in town!

Believe it or not, we never print any wedding pictures yet, and I got my wedding album last Monday, after 2 years of marriage! Haha.

Actually it's kinda our fault. We never send our photos for printing, nor compiling into albums. We just hired official photographer on our wedding WITHOUT album thinking that we want to make the album ourselves! Yes, we are bunch of AMBITIOUS people, or NUT! Haha.

When Zahra Elena popped-out, we know that it will be dream-won't-come-true, so we decided to leave it to professionals. And still!! It took us almost a year to get it done. Asyik tangguh-tangguh haha.

Coincidentally, one of my colleague is doing photography as his part time job (whiteboxsyndicate) and I find his work is decent enough with my budget. And that's how I decided to hand over this tedious job to him ;)

I request for 2 albums. One for solemnization and one for reception. I use our wedding invitations as the front cover.

Solemnization, printed on cardboard metallic paper.
Photographer was my friends Bee&Yan, FOC as wedding gift. Thank you darlings! :D

Reception, printed on metallic cardboard paper.
Photographer - hired (and I forgot his link already hehe)

Bottom line is, if you THINK you can make your own album, forget it! (unless it is your forte hehe). You won't even have the time to think about it, and edit lah apa lah. So, hire photographer WITH album pleaseee! Or you'll end up like me, after 2 years! And still not making it ourselves in the end, hahaha.

My Sunday Morning

Weekend is lazy day for us. We'll wake up really late, anytime we feel like to. But not that late anymore because we have Zahra now. Have to bathe and feed her. I used to woke up after 1 those days, straight away to lunch hehe. Anyway, I had girls outing on the Sunday at MidV and was very excited about it. We promised to show our face at 1130 am.

And it was 930am when suddenly MrComot woke me up

"Sayang bangun..dah 930 and jom breakfast"

I was a bit upset because I want to sleep and just don't get it why suddenly he wants me to have breakfast. Ok maybe he's hungry or what so I opened my eyes and ask

"Hmm sayang nak makan apa?"
"Me dah buat breakfast for you"

I was like..what? So I quickly sit and forced myself to be sober so that I don't get anything wrong.

"Hmm ok..why u make breakfast for me?"
"Because you nak pergi jumpa your girlfriends, makan sikit so tak lapar sangat, you need the energy"

OK. Now I am really like, WHATTT?

And look what he made for me:

Soft-boiled egg complete with salami, bread and salad.

It is...soooo thoughtful of him! *sniffles*

Since the camera is there, I took pictures of my little princess sleeping. She is so lasak nowadays that her sleeping position keep on changing through the night. Not to mention she also like to toss her body once in a while in her sleep and causing us this heart attack, in case she crawl and fall of the bed!

This is before I eat my breakfast

And this is after I finished it. Terkejut tengok2 dah macam ni haha.

To my hubby, I know I can never thank you enough, but thank you for being so thoughtful on Sunday morning ;)

I'm on unlimited 3G!

Before I continue my rambling, just another rambling here. I decided to put watermark in all my pictures tomorrow because I feel some sense of ownership and will be pissed if somebody copy it without any credit. And today I changed my mind. Watermarking is so time-consuming and hell, suka hati lah siapa nak amik gamba tu! As long as I know what is mine, it's fair enough ehehe. I take pride in pictures I took, so sometimes I think I need the watermark, but sometimes I feel it ruined the pictures. Hmm so indecisive.

Anyway, MrComot and I went to Blue Cube PJ in PJ Oldtown to change my account from ala carte 3G to unlimited data plan. We went there because few of my colleague told me they are fast with no-fuss. I don't have to do extra work (staff verification and such), just show the passcard and I am entitled to the package.

What I want to shout here is, Blue Cube PJ is rocks! OMG, they are super fast and easy and attentive that stunned me right on the dot. I also caught by their latest ticketing system (or maybe it has been long there but I never knew about it). We were welcomed by this GIANT phone-like screen where you have to enter your mobile number and enter and then a numbering ticket will come out and wait for it to be called. It is A-W-E-S-O-M-E! You don't have to tell the counter girl anymore what's ur number and any details because they already got it the moment you enter it for the ticket. I wish I take a picture of this giant phone but I was too stunned and it shying me away from taking out my camera. And the counter also very fast. I fill up one form and she enter it in the PC and done! The total experience was like 2 minutes! *pengsan*

Since we finished everything early, MrComot brought me to A&W PJ - OMG bring so much memory. Ni la tempat2 lepak zaman2 bujang sebab 24hours kan hehehe. Last time I was there was like, 2 years back? This short break really excites me because we hardly enjoy outside food like this nowadays but guess what? He keep on receives lotsa calls that day, orang tanya itu lah ini lah. It's lunch hour people!!! Can't you call my husband on working hours if it's about work? I'm pissed because it's spoiling his mood. He feels bad whenever he can't attend the work immediately or problem arising. But hey, we have problem all the time ok! --> ok this one I marah my hubby, but as if he reads this blog haha.

Nevermind, so this is what we had!

I am so craved with the float and the gluttonous in me whisper right to my brain that it's not enough!

Hence we tapau-ed another double scoop float for me.

And leave me this feeling - ewwwww so manis macam minum air gula kelapa! Haha. No more float for me after this.

Oh ya, another reason for me to subscribe for unlimited data is because this Whatsapp keep on connecting my 3G even after I force the setting to connect on WIFI only. I already uninstall it because it bugs me. And now I am riding on unlimited 3G babes! So whatsapp is back in town!

The first person to beep me the moment I installed it is MrComot! It is like less than 1 sec after it runs, so fast pakcik tu!

So now I can do more thing with my phone - unlimited browsing, youtubing, etc etc etc. Anywhere anytime! Only thing is, hopefully Celcom can jaga their network well. No drop and reasonably fast will be good enough for me hehe.

What is a smart phone to you if without internet connection, right? ;)

Entering Crafty Zone

Remember about this phase where I bought lots lots lots of craft stuff and make nothing out of it. Guess what, the phase ain't over!!

I still buy little bit of art material online *sigh*.

I stop buying cotton fabric anyway because that will be..too..obvious. And I don't like it when MrComot will question me with "when are you going to make something". This little little thing that I bought is a bit secretive because they came in small package, just because they are small hehehe. Normally I will tell about all my online purchase before I pay (most of it because I don't have maybank2u and ask MrComot to pay for it hehe) but there are a few occasions where the supplier accept cimbclicks and that's when I'll click without telling him.

And he caught me doing it yesterday!

I found something I want very bad (but don't know when going to use it) online and click click click immediately buying it. Then the seller email me to inform the total bill and I opened the email and then went to the toilet for a while and left the email open. That's when MrComot came to my desk place and saw the email and gave me this big grin asking;

"what do you buy this time?"

Ughhhhh!! I was flushed to the max! And being me, I keep on justifying my purchase to him. Not that he gets angry with it,in fact he just laughing with my reaction. It's just... I can't believe it, what's wrong with me! Beli beli beli tapi tak buat apa-apa hahaha.

Anyway finally I made something with small part of my purchase. I made hairclips! For Zahra to be exact!

Since I am a first timer, this quite hard for me actually. I am no expert in handling the glue gun and it's all messy and sticky! And I think I bought the wrong size ribbon (which made me thinking I gotta buy new ribbon! haha!). The end product is not really satisfying but I believe in practice makes perfect!

Tried to snap few pictures Zahra wearing it but she refused to sit still hence the shaky pictures.

And gave me this big yawn "cepat lah mommy, bosannya kena amik gamba banyak kali!"

I also made adult version using felt and blanket stitch - OMG I am all crafty suddenly haha. I made a rose with big leaves and think it's not that cantik because MrComot cakap "OK" when I asked how is it. OK only? :(

Tak suka!

I forced him to model it for me ;)

So what do you think of my roses and the kiddie clips? Well, it's not big but definitely a good start, don't you think so? ;)

Gotta make other stuff pulak because there are so many thing I want to buy!! Hehehe

I love fruits!

I know I haven't really update on Zahra's food nowadays...it's because she eats the same thing! Beef-chicken-apple-beef-chicken-apple-papaya sometimes which spells B-O-R-I-N-G!

I didn't give her any fish yet, just because I don't want to hehe. And egg yolk, because I am lazy to check for the reaction. I decided to just wait until she is 10months plus.

Anyway just a couple of pics below in any case can give you inspiration on what to give for your little one.

I prepared fruits for her snacks time.

The usual apple + avocado

And this is something new to Zahra. Since she hates pear, I decided to mix it with banana and guess what? She likes it! Not only you can't really taste the pear, but it soften the banana taste as well, which I like most! Haha..macam for my food pulak.

You don't really have to steam banana but as I made it in big batch and want to keep it in the freezer, *I think* it's better being cooked. So I dump everything in the steamer and blend them accordingly to their combination.

I'm not really strict on Zahra's diet anymore. She eats bread, raisins, nasi kenduri, or pretty much whatever I feel like giving, but it's more on taste condition. Her main diet still be the sugar and salt free home-cooked meal that I make every weekend. And she still fully breastfeed! A few months to 1 year and I am really hoping I can make it to 2-years, aminn aminn aminn..

But one thing puzzles me, even though she's taking all the healthy food and on breastmilk, she still having this occasional constipation, which is weird. I don't know what causing it as it has become pretty norm nowadays. Not the rough constipation but after 2-3 days of normal poop, she will refuse to pass motion (or can't, I don't know) and the poop will back become hard. And repeats. I read that it could be the food itself - but we are giving her the same food so it couldn't be. And according to the doc, she might want to poop but got distracted and forget about it, and this will make the poo harder and she will refuse to pass motion. So we have to urge her every night, making it a habit for her to do the big job. I find it funny, and complicated. I mean, why don't you just do it if you feel like to *sigh*.

My princess latest pic in her new granny pajama. It's such a cutie! Got kedut-kedut at tangan and kaki haha. Bought it at FOS. Ohh I really dig this place because sometimes you can find good stuff at bargain price.

About the constipation, how about your babies, mommies? Do you experience the same thing?

I don't like mustard!

Zahra Elena is allergic to mustard!

I just found about it last night. We had Subway for dinner and I just pinch a bit of cheese (there is a bit of mustard stuck to it) and half an hour later, her face is swollen (the eyes and mouth area) and blotching with red patches! Ok, maybe she is allergic to cheese, but I don't think so because I've fed her swiss cheese before and she's all okay. My hunch strongly says it is the mustard!

The freaky part is, she barely eat it, I mean, it is like 5milimeter cheese and like, a dab of mustard? and still! causing this frightening allergy.

Not only on the face, the blotches also appeared on the belly and inner thigh, and the ear is redden and she keep on rubbing her face. I guess it's real itchy. Her respiratory also sounds differently, she's having this weird wheezing sound like being asthmatic and some mucus coming out from the nose, like a sudden cold.

It's freaky that I wanted to snap some pictures, but it's late already (around 10pm) and I want her to sleep to avoid the scratching so I was busy forcing her breastfeeding and falling asleep. Anyway we didn't go to any clinic because I know nothing much the doctor can do except waiting for the allergy reaction gone (or give some injection which I want to avoid if possible), unless it's pretty bad that affecting her breathing, then we'll go to the hospital. We did some online search and it's said the reaction will goes off within 12-24 hours.

Finally my poor baby slept with her puffy eyes and mouth, around 11pm. I checked this morning and thank God the swollen skin went down and leaves only few red patches.

Hopefully this is only temporary for her stage, I want her to be able to eat almost everything hehehe.

Below is her video laughing when being tickled. We were in Houz Depot last Saturday, buying some stuff and she got bored and refused to sit still in the stroller or while being carried. She wanted to climb and reach all over the display stuff, so I do this trick to distract her for a while. It works and fun at the same time! :D

Oh ya, talking about stroller, it's hard nowadays to go shopping with her, because she can't keep quiet and she just found out that she can climb out of the stroller while being tucked. Yes, she loosen herself and climb it over even though I already buckle her up. And refused to be wore as well! She will twist her body left and right in the carrier. Dear baby, I know you can't wait to run and move on your own, but wait till you can, you will miss the stroller hehe..
