What I Want for 2014

Ok, time for fun entry!! What I want for 2014 (read it like how I met your mother tone, so fun! lol). Ok kidding. Anyway I just loveeeee to do this. Haven't I? Listing out all the want thing. So superficial! Yeah, superficial stuff is FUN! Hehehe!

You can read my wanting list for 2013 here: http://aandes.blogspot.com/2013/01/what-i-want-for-2013.html

In fact you can use the search button on my blog and type "what I want", if you would like to see my other side of being *childish* *cough* *cough* throughout the year.

Yes I do think wish list is kinda childish :P

Ok enough ranting..here is the review of what I want last year, and lets see, did I get it or not.

2013 Wanted stuff:

1) Printer for craft that can wifi and scan

Well, I GOT IT!!!! In fact I bought it early of the year - January 2013. Or was it December 2012? I couldn't find the receipt though, it's shucked in one of my drawers. Nevermind. Anywaaaayyyy... it's a big and shiny black inkjet Canon PIXMA hmm forgot the model. But it's super niceeee! Double way, poor my printer, it is bought and left unloving after that, until now, that I feel like crying.

Yes!!! It's still unopened after a year. I'm just busy you know =/

My poor printer dumped together with Zahra's doll. Well, at least you got a pretty companion.

2) A vacation - local / oversea doesn't matter
WE DID!! I almost forgot about this, because I didn't blog about it. Proscrastination. By the way, we went to PENANG!! And had loads of fun! Will try to blog about it (even though it's so last year! Booo!)

3) Bias tape maker
Got it! But you guess it right. It receives same fate with my printer. Sobs.

sorry baby. Maybe I should sell you?

4) Rotary cutter set with mat and ruler
GOT IT!! And been lovingly used =D
I've been using it for almost everything, from fabric to paper and to measure

5) New curtain and sofa cover for the house, current one has been stuck (and unwash) for 4 years!
Errr...NOPE! Let it remains unwash for 5 years will ya! =D

6) A proper built-in sewing table
Well, I did get a sewing table handed down by MrComot's auntie, but to say built-in, it's not. So how do I put this. 50-50! I think the table is good enough for me as I'm not settling down my art's room quite yet. So I don't plan to get a proper one..maybe later. Much later. So this is my new sewing table, which has pretty red and pink ombre drawers. And I stuff everything there. What an eyesore! =/
Nice drawers dude! But...I see junk is killing you.

2013 needed stuff:

1) 365-project
I didn't make it, BUT I did the yearly book with photobook.com.my and it's awesome! Gotta make it yearly. Nanti I show!

2) Open my blogshop, seriously, I bought too many! Need to let go some stuff.

I DID IT. Yeay yeay, andes did it la la andes did it. Well, literally...not really. I did make some arrangement on to open the blogshop, like setting up a domain, upload pictures, register with SSM and whatnot BUT, I never get it launched in 2013. So will make official announcement later and maybe some giveaway! *ambitious mode ON!*

Anyway some hint below....presenting you the cutest bee on the block!

3) Finish my pregnancy journal (Zahra and Emir).
Errrrr...NEXT!! *totally forgot about this! Gah!!*

Haha..it's fun right?! I never knew I wanted so many thing? Goldfish!

OK, now lets talk about what I want for 2014.

Hmmm...hmmm...

Hmmm...

HMMMM...

I can't think.. of..any. Really.

Really.

Woooooaaahh! I AM OLD. I don't know what I want anymore. All I want is to be happy. Ever after.

And maybe to paint some room, and stencil my kitchen with blue waves. And maybe assembling my printer. That poor dude.

Yes, I want to do that this year. Lets get serious.

1) Do some stenciling/painting. Blue waves for my wet kitchen
2) Another stenciling/painting for the front wall, golden blocks perhaps.
2) Assembling the printer and print awesome wall art!
3) Do the yearly book
4) Again...pregnancy journal (Zahra and Emir). Lets face it, I have to repeat this until I come out with one!

There's something missing. I need to buy something this year. Wait..let me think about it.

.
.
.
.
Oh yes, my ultimate no 5

5) I want a wooden swing!! In fact, it was on 2011 list. Memory returns =D

*pic googled*
The kids must lovin it!

So how about you? Berangan tak rugi! Hahaha

All and all, I want to be a better muslim and person, a fun mommy and devoted (as in, wake up early, cook some nice food, keeping my tone low) wifey. I can do this! 2014, bring it on!!

The Terrible 4

Just a little rant, today is already 10th Jan and I've pictured in my mind before that I'll start to write about wonderful things in 2014, my wishlist and whatnot. Flowers and sunshines.

But.. life is not like that. It's unpredictable and you can't have everything your way. So yeah, I started my 2014 with lots of mundane colors. The kids were unwell (they are better today, Alhamdulillah), Zahra refused to go to school and she will cry every morning saying "Zahra tanak mommy workkkkkk!!!", Emir been vomiting every day..not the serious one though, just when he cries because of the phlegm, both refused to eat (which I find very irritating and devastating at the same time). Sigh... I never imagine my first week of new year can be this challenging.

Ok...so after the stressful nights and the slapping incident, I decided to cool down and reflect myself. The kids didn't make it easier though. Zahra still crying crying crying most of the time. Not exactly crying..u know, merengek, buat bunyi aaaa..aaaa..aaaaaaa..macam menangis but not really crying. So irritating!! Every little thing tak kena. If MrComot makes her milk, she said tanak daddy buatttt..nak mommy buatttttt! Then after I buat, tanak panassss nak sejukkkk. Then after I sejukkan sikit, nak panas sikitttttttt. After dah panaskan balik she will say tak cukup tangannnn nak pegang botol susu. Haishhh u know la..it never ends.

But I grit my teeth, hold my breathe and do the slapping scenes in my head only. Not on her. I succeed so far and very proud of myself (haha! ok not funny).

Back to the main thing, I just found out that there are this condition called Terrible 4!!!! I never heard of it. I mean, terrible 2 ye la..but terrible 4 pun ada?

You’re neck deep in the 4’s.  It’s sound a bit ridiculous at first.  I mean how much grief could a pint size kid give you?  You quickly find out.  At the age of 4, children have developed enough speech skills to communicate what they want, and don’t want.
Suddenly your child, who used cry when they were unhappy and could be consoled with a hug or a time out, can talk back.  Those looks you’ve mastered are now falling onto blind eyes.  They are defiant, testing and smart! Books say that children at this age should be testing boundaries.

Full article can be found here: -http://negotiationboard.com/the-terrible-4s/

And yes, the hardest time will be when we parted at school. She will cling on my neck and refused to let go and cryyyyyyy and said "Zahra tanak mommy workkkk" repeatedly.

I reasoned, bribed, promised, threatened, semua tak jalan

Mommy have to go to work
Mommy tak payah pegi workkkk (wailing)
Kalau mommy tak work, macam mana mommy nak beli kinder surprise
Biar saja..Zahra tanak kinder supriseeeee (wailing)
Ok but we still need food to eat
Biar saja..tak payah makannnnn (wailing)
Nanti boss mommy marah
Biar saja...zahra nak duduk dengan mommyyyyy (wailing)
Ok Zahra you have option either I go nicely or I just leave u here just like that
Zahra tanak mommy pegi workkkkkkkk (wailing and pulling my dress)

Ada one time she hits me ok, because she was so disappointed. So now tell me, how am I supposed to go to work..happily :(

Anyway, the article knocked me some sense and I've been calmer ever since..no more raising voice, no more angry face, and no more hitting of course. There got some tips there. Go read it!

Ohh sometimes how I wish I just quit my job and stay at home with the kids. But..I'm not there yet. Maybe soon, 2-3 years time. Just a maybe though. Sigh..

Butterflies

When did you last has this fluttering sensation in your stomach? Mine was like ages ago, that I can't even remember when was it. And today, the sensation kicks in.. because I'm going to send the kiddos to playschool tomorrow!

I know I know...just sending them to school, what is the big deal?

Currently, both of them is on full-time babysitter environment which is a total homey and laid-back and the babysitter cares for them. So this is a big decision for us, and the kids. I wonder how they going to take it, but I hope they will be fine.

It all started when I had the breakdown moment and we decided to change our routine, by taking maids of course! We've been seeking high and low, online and offline, getting contacts of the maids, but somehow.. we didn't dare to make that commitment. All of us know that having maid is not all rainbows and butterflies so I am a bit scaredy cat there.

After a while, the idea of having maid cool off and I was thinking, why don't we send Zahra and Emir to school! The key is to find the right one for us. That will make the kids happy and maybe we can cut some KL traffic as we don't have to detour to the babysitter's anymore.

So that's how it started. We took a couple days of leave..visited each schools in KD and KL that suit our route, observed their environment, talked to the teachers and that narrow us to two places. One is Brainy Bunch KD and another one is The Treehouse Playschool.

Honestly..I will choose BB anytime, because it is so so so convenient. Very near with our house, and don't have to go through the traffic at all. And I like their place, it's a bungalow lot with land and spacious space for the kids. Not to mention they are trained teachers and run Islamic Montessari Syllabus.

As for TTH, the drawback is that it's a shop-lot place. But, after I talked to the teachers, I fell in love immediately, MasyaAllah.. From my first impression, they are committed and very passionate with children. So that matters. To be fair, I didn't talk to BB's teachers personally (because we couldn't find the right time to meet them), so I can't judge them. But I was in rush as well. I want to send Zahra to playschool in December because she will be 4 next year. It's like junior playschool and I don't want extreme change for her, so if I start this year (she's considered as 3yo this year) she will be in baby playschool (TTH calls it baby caliph). And with time constraint and whatnot, I decided to choose TTH.

I'm not very worried with Zahra as she kinda understands when I said she's going to school, but as for Emir, he is very very very fond and manja with her babysitter. I hope both of them can adapt the new change and pray that this will be a good decision that we made.

Opss...sorry for this drastic ending, gotta go pick my kids up! Write later!

One of the days..

I had this gastric attack few weeks ago which is really weird because I've never had gastritis after my last treatment in 2006. It was very bad that I vomit every 2 hours even when there is no food in the stomach, up to an extent I thought I am pregnant!

But I know I am not, so I went to see the doctor.

It started well, telling her that I got stomach pain, been vomiting like crazy, did some pregnancy test which came out negative and suddenly I burst out crying. Right in front of the doctor.

I don't know what came into me but I just feel like crying. I feel so weak and so in pain. And I feel so hopeless because I am in pain. You got me? I hardly fell sick it the sickness is making me so upset.

Started from the stomach pain, it has become a psychology session. I am on emotional turmoil and been pouring down my life to the doctor.

I told her that I am so tired with my life right now. With all the traffic jam and all. So basically this is how our life every day.

7-am : send the kids to babysitter, go to work, reach around 830 - 1 1/2 hrs journey
working
630 pm : pickup the kids, go back home, reach at MIL's around 8pm - another 1 1/2 hrs journey
have solat, dinner, feed the kids dinner
930 pm : go back home
10 pm : readied the kids..sampai rumah je they want to play first. then brush teeth, wash up a bit, clean myself, pray and stuff, it's almost 12am before we hit the sack.

Every.single.day

Then it hits me that I am freaking tired of it.

I don't think that we have quality life anymore. I want a life where I get to be on the bed with the kids at 10pm max, read them story book, or teach them quran during maghrib. A simple life but fulfilling.

Then I even mention that I've been breastfeeding for 3 years non-stop, not that I feel it's a burden, it's just I am so tired.

I tried some multivits and supplement, but it just doesn't work.

Weekend is fine because I call up the weekly maid to clean up the house, so basically I don't do any house chores, it is just I am so tired with the weekdays routine. I want to do more in my life than being a robot, you know.

The doc keep on giving me tissue paper and smile "I understand. I've been there too. With 2 small kids"

Then the session goes on and on and she concludes that I got the gastric because I am stress! Apparently the more stress you are, the more acidic your stomach will be. Hahahaha.

Ok..so we discuss my problem, brainstorming ideas to how to tackle it, to make my life better, etc etc.

She gave me an MC for me to go shopping to wind out my mind. But I spend the whole day sleeping! How I wish I can go shopping but my stomach still hurt very much that day.

Anyway the next day, I woke up fresher than ever. I know what I want in my life now!

To get a maid!

Hahaha. Ok seriously, I am considering to have a maid. I can't afford to reach home at 10pm anymore and be a zombie.

Or maybe I should quit my job and be a full time housewife. That will be my most wanted job!!! But deep inside I still tak berani. I still want to work and make money. Sigh. I know, selfish. Double sigh.

God..show me the way!

What I want for 2013

Ok, this is going to be stale. I always make a point what I want and need to do every year but none achieved in last year! And some of them already carried forward from 2011! Ahhhh benci benci benci! But yeah, it's a fun thing to do (I mean the wishlist, not the 'none-achieving' part ha ha ha), so I'm gonna make a new list this year! Some will be carried forward, some maybe not.. like the diamond ring. I think I've grown up wiser hahahaha... You can read my 2012 wishlist here by the way.

Anyway recap last year:

Wanted stuff:
1) A color printer - none. Actually almost to get one, as in A-L-M-O-S-T. I've been surveying around and decided to buy this one, already talked to the salesman, and we went there on 31st Dec 2012, and then dia cakap habis ok? HABIS! Ughhhh I almost cross this one from my list. Dang! Anyway it'll be restock soon, so we'll see if I getting it or not, macam dah tak semangat haha..
2) Silhoutte cameo - ilek
3) Timber flooring - ilek
4) Wooden swing - ilek

Needed stuff:
1) Finish my entries on Japan trip in 2008 - NO!
2) Finish album compilation on the honeymoon trip - NO!
3) Finish my entries on Langkawi trip in early 2011 - NO!
4) Finish making my pregnancy journal with Zahra Elena - NO!
5) Finish making my pregnancy journal with Emir Qalef - NO!
6) Edit all the honeymoon trip videos and upload them in youtube - NO!
7) Print the wedding pictures - NO!
8) Kemas my craft stuff - err.. a lil bit, since I already start sewing
9) Launch my online store - it's simple on blogspot je, but I have to take pictures, packing, etc etc. It's tedious to me :( - NO!
10) Start 365-project! - NO!

Oooooo kaaayyyyy. I'm so hopeless!!! I hate my 2012 wishlist! Gahhhhh!!!!

Nevermind that, let's roll to 2013 and see what I *think* I want to have and to do.

What I want for 2013

1) Printer for craft that can wifi and scan

2) A vacation - local / oversea doesn't matter

3) Bias tape maker - Already order this so can I put it in my wishlist? Hihihi

4) Rotary cutter set with mat and ruler

5) New curtain and sofa cover for the house, current one has been stuck (and unwash) for 4 years!

6) A proper built-in sewing table

Something like this. It's a built-in base, see that the sewing machine doesn't sit on top of the table? Nice righhhhhttttt? ;)

Ok, enough of the material stuff, let's see my need to do list, and I'm trying to be realistic here, so no more copy paste from last year (haha takut la tu last year punya list panjang).

1) 365-project
2) Open my blogshop, seriously, I bought too many! Need to let go some stuff.
3) Finish my pregnancy journal (Zahra and Emir).

Ok that's all! Honeymoon compilation can be wait I guess?

Anyway we've been very very very busy. I hope I can achieve more this year. I mean, come on! I'm already in 3-series, I have to do something about my life. I am happy with what I achieving right now, but it's kinda comfortable and I'm afraid it will turn to laziness and that's not pretty right?

So the ultimate goal this year is to be great!

And hope God grant me His great guide in my life. Ameen...

3-series first entry :)

I miss my blog so soo sooo sooooo much!!!

Hye everyone!! I'm here alive and kicking and I hate myself for not updating. I am so busy and tired up to a point that I'm tired of being tired...

So I was like "OK, that's it! Am going to update my blog! Tiredness, shooooo away!"

Haha so that's explain this entry.

On the other note, I am another year older! I'm entering the THREE-series and it doesn't feel scary like I used to imagine but yeah, it will be nicer if I stuck at 20s haha kidding! Age doesn't really matter, as long as everything is fine, I am happy with it :)

To break the long hiatus, I present this blog my current work-place and it sucks to the core. I hate every single sight of it! But at the same time, I can't bring myself to tidy it up a bit, or beautify it, or whatever. I just feel like throwing everything behind and fly to Maldives sipping pina colada under the breezy coconut tree with beautiful aqua view on the sandy beach. But reality is, I have to face this eye-sore space everrrrryyyday! It even invades my dream, damn it!

Haha..enough of the whining and swearing, just want to zing my typical office worker with a little drama.

Anyway, I have so many things to pour on and will try my best to update daily. Again, I miss crapping so much! Hope you guys have a good day! :)

Live Happily

I rarely share sad stuff, but this one is exceptional. Not that I'm very sad with his condition, but because he touches my heart deeply. What a strong and high spirited boy. If you ever feel so down with your life, remember the more unfortunate. Everybody deserves to live happily.

What I want for 2012

I wrote my wishlist in 2011 here, and looking back, I only get one! Anyway, it's fun to list down all the material thingy and somehow it makes me feel jumpy in greeting 2012.

Before we proceed with 2012, lets recap last year's wishlist.

Wanted stuff:
1) color printer - tak beli
2) sewing machine - I got one! Yeay!!! But still tak guna til now. Hmmmpphh!
3) bread maker - tak beli
4) second diamond ring - obviously tak beli hahaha
5) oversea trip - didn't manage to. Zahra sakit and I was pregnant
6) wooden swing - tak beli, tak jumpa yg suka lagi
7) cute utensils for kitchen - tak beli

Needed stuff:
1) Finish entry on Japan trip in 2008 - not yet!
2) Finish album compilation on the honeymoon trip - not yet!
3) Finish making my pregnancy journal with Zahra Elena - not yet! Sampai Emir dah keluar!
4) Edit all the honeymoon trip videos and upload them in youtube - not yet!
5) Print the wedding pictures - Belum!! :(
6) Make 2010 album book - Obviously tak buat huhu. Gotta make it up for 2012 ;)
7) Kemas bilik art (the 3rd bedroom) - Again, obviously tak kemas haha
8) Start my online business - in the middle! :D Gotta sell some of my craft supplies. Will reveal the link nanti.
9) Settle my PTPTN issue - in the middle! Dah bayar some amount to release ;)

10) Gain weight for second child - Dah dapat Emir, tak sempat gain weight
11) Pray better - this will be on-going process :)

Ok so lets jump to what I want for 2012. Some of them are repetitive and some are not, like breadmaker because I don't feel like having it now ;P

What I want for 2012:

1) A color printer

2) Silhouette Cameo

3) Timber flooring for hall

4) Wooden swing

And plus what I need to do:

1) Finish my entries on Japan trip in 2008
2) Finish album compilation on the honeymoon trip
3) Finish my entries on Langkawi trip in early 2011
4) Finish making my pregnancy journal with Zahra Elena
5) Finish making my pregnancy journal with Emir Qalef
6) Edit all the honeymoon trip videos and upload them in youtube
7) Print the wedding pictures
8) Kemas my craft stuff
9) Launch my online store - it's simple on blogspot je, but I have to take pictures, packing, etc etc. It's tedious to me :(
10) Start 365-project!

Two things that most wanted/needed will be:

* Silhouette Cameo - it's retailed at USD$299, well korek tabung insyaAllah cukup nak beli tapi... I feel unfair to buy it because I still haven't use my sewing machine, like WTF kan? Beli mesin jahit tak pakai pastu nak beli mesin potong2 pulak. Even though it serves different purpose, but it drills down to the same thing, do I have the time? So, before I buy it, have to prove to myself that I will use it. In short, I should start sewing! #Mustfindtime&strength.

* Starts 365-project - it's a daily project where u snap pic in your everyday and print it and compile it (can make it short or long, doesn't matter). I plan to compile in paper album (notebook) and put short caption. Over a year, I will have 365 pics of my daily life in 2012! Actually it's the same thing I wanted to do like 2010 album, only the different, I snap everyday and terus print, instead of waiting to compile it in 2013. Already snap the pics, cuma nak tunggu print this weekend. See..procrastinate :P

And funny thing, I don't feel like going anywhere this year. Well, it's too early to tell but for now, I'm excited to start lots lots lots of craft/sewing projects, especially for Zahra and Emir!

Wow.. I am less materialistic in 2012. We'll see hehe.

So how about you guys? What do you want/need in 2012? Share it with me! U can give the link to ur blog entry too. I'm so kepochi to peek into your wish list! :P

Dr Firdaus yg handsome

Ok this entry is so not me, but couldn't help it so have to write about it.

Emir's cough and flu is quite bad on Saturday and he barely can sleep, woke up every 4 hours with blocked nose and can hear the phlegm. I know they normally don't give any medicine for 2 months baby, but maybe ada something for the blocked nose? We wait for a while but see no improvement on Sunday, so I decided to go to our regular clinic. (I stop using iliadin and nasal spray because it looks scary to me even though designed for infants).

So we went there and Dr Chua is unavailable, ada dr ganti. Terus kitaorg keluar from the clinic, tanak lah the dr ganti, had a bad experience with him. Last time about 2 weeks ago, Zahra got big nanah kat kepala and pecah, so bleeding quite bad, habis all the wet wipe soaked in blood, so pergi clinic and he don't even touch the head to check, just suluh with torchlight from far and suruh the nurse, clean here, clean there..hmm besar wound ni? kena warded..IV drip. Like wth.. I know he is a dr, tapi I dah lap the wound before so I know it's not that bad, cuma blood tanak stop. And my friend dah kena 2x with him, demam sikit je anak dia and suruh warded. So weird. Anyway we didn't admit Zahra to any hospital (I think it's ridiculous) and I just put ubat gamat, the dr don't even give us any antiseptic cream. Esok tengok ok je kepala Zahra.

Ok, so that's why we walked out the moment we heard dr ganti tu on duty that day so we just gamble went to other klinik.

We were the 1st patient and the dr is not there yet, have to wait for a while. Masa tu I was..haishhhh apa ni dr lambat. And then ada a young guy clad in tracksuit and jersey came in and bagi salam. I was like, ok..this is the dr ke? Baru balik jogging ke apa haha.

So yeah, when our name called, that's the dr. So I told him so and so..how Emir's nose blocked, every 4 hours bla bla..I gave him iliadin, nasal spray bla bla bla..

And the conversation gets interesting!

He explained to me a lot of thing that I feel like we are having some medical discussion for exams! Hahaha. And the best thing is, the way he talks, sooo sesuaiiii dengan I (ewwww apakah iniii? haha) I mean, he's so sweet, soft spoken, tak kelam kabut, good structure, easy to understand for a layman person like me, and very informative. He treat me like I'm a well educated person (you know..walaupun I bukan doctor, dia takde la anggap macam I dont understand what he's saying) and took the effort to elaborate even though it's simple matter, like how should I keep my room airy and reduce the usage of the aircond. Pandai betul dia cakap, I don't feel like dia anggap I stupid ke, and make me feel glad that he pointing it out.

He asked a lot and the most important thing, he listens a lot too! I cakap macam makcik ke, cakap ayat tak tersusun ke, he listen and respond well to my query. Ohhh I suka ok orang yg bijak macam ni. What a refined man.

And the plus bonus, he is quite handsome *cough* *cough*

Dah la dia tak suka bagi ubat suka-suka. U know what I mean? Even though I keep on saying kesian Emir I takut ada infection etc, he said it's ok. What his concern is, even though the medicine can help, tapi he more worry the sedative effect in the medicine. So kalau 2 months better not giving anything, unless he's irritable and very bad. Emir pee and poo like usual, doesn't reject feeding, so it should be ok. The phlegm also only at the throat, not in the lung. And he refused to give me antibiotic. REFUSED ok hahaha. He said, he can give, but he doesn't see why Emir needs it. Sbb it's more to viral, not bacteria since Emir tak demam. Just high temp when he is stress. Ohhhh I love this doctor. So detail and concern. Yeah..concern is the word! Btw, he gave Bisolvon (1ml dose) to break the phlegm, only if it's so bad. He even taught us how to break the phlegm naturally. He asked if I know how to, I said I know..tepuk2 kat belakang tu, but maybe my face mcm tak sure or he likes me *puke*, that he said, let me show you.

Awwwwwwwww so sweet lah youuuuu! Haha..

Then I told him, I'm worried Emir can't sleep because he spent most of the time coughing and nak termuntah, but tak muntah, you know lah baby they don't know how to spit it out yet. And Emir = not sleeping, seriously worrying me.

He just give the sweetest smile and said 'Don't worry, he will catch up'

Awwwwww..he knows what to say to erase my worry without bagi ubat to Emir.

Other than that, he's quite young you know..maybe around 30 top. And ingat tak he gave us salam first, masa dia masuk the clinic. Double awwwwww. I know it's common, but is it really common? Honestly nowadays dah jarang jumpa orang bagi salam..normally will say, 'pagi!' or 'morning!'.. Ni lembut je dia cakap, 'Assalamualaikum..'

Alahai..cairnya hati I haha..

And you know how melted I was? The moment I am out from the clinic, the first thing that came across of my head is..Is this dr has a girlfriend? If not I want to introduce him to my girlfriends! Punyala high prospect ni :P

Btw, I didn't know his name until we are at the counter to take medicine and the pharmacist answering a call, apparently somebody asking who is the dr in charge that day and she said, Dr Firdaus. Awwwww...so that's his name!

Anyway back to Emir, the phlegm still so bad that I decided to give 1 dose of the medicine (on the evening). Last night he vomit out a big batch of phlegm (thank God!) and I decided to take EL today. Kesian pulak Emir nak terus hantar ke babysitter. Lagipun nanti budak lain jangkit, I will feel very bad. But Alhamdulillah so far so good, he managed to sleep through the night, no more blocked nose and cough sikit je, and still sleeping until now! Wow..that's really a catch up!

Portraiture Pwincess

Oh my...it's almost 3 weeks this blog is abandoned, I am very very busy this few weeks, hardly can seat relax-ly and type something. There's a lot of thing going on both in carreer and personal life

On carreer wise, there has been small restructure where I got new manager to report on and new AGM as well. So we were running around with lotsa meetings to put everything back in place, and not to mention we have 2 big migration project this year, involving big services - DNS and email.

On personal life pulak, we are squeezing everything in place even though both of us have very limited time now because we are expecting 2nd baby! Yeah! I wanted to make a proper write up, but later lah.. So with the second baby coming in, we have to finish our second kitchen (thank God, it's done last week) and I'll write about it later. Then few other thing as well...arrangement nak balik kampung lagi, my parents went back to Terengganu for good last week, so we have to think a lot of thing now, the travel time with little one, Raya, etc etc.

Not to mention that I'm juggling hard between a demanding toddler and tiresome pregnancy.

And the latest news pulak, all the kids in babysitter's place infected with chicken pox. For now only 2 kids free from it, Zahra and the youngest baby (7months Rizqi). Since everybody are infected, the parents decided to leave their kids there *sigh* and I only knew this when we reached at the front door. I wanted to bring Zahra to the office today instead of leaving her with the babysitter, but MrComot had this urgent meeting in Cyberjaya and has no time to detour to my office to drop me there, so I have to follow him to CBJ and leave Zahra there. Thanks to my bos and my new office laptop, I can work anyway as long as got internet connection. I can't bring her here..it won't be that comfortable as it is not my office. Sigh again. Hope Zahra is OK, won't be infected. She already had her immunization last 2 months..but if nak kena, kena jugak kan. What I'm more worried is, if Zahra kena, there is a risk for me to have it too and now is very crucial for me not to have this extra infection.

I owe this blog a lot of stories! Well, I need to jot down all of that because every little thing means a lot to me. Thus I need more time for that! *nanges*

Anyway below is a couple pics of Zahra las week, portraiture style. It's hard to snap her pic these days because she likes to move here and that when I point the camera, and will only have blurry ghostly like pictures. This is the first time she stands still and willingly smile for the camera.

Zahra at 1year4months

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you'll have a good weekend. I have a wedding to attend to on Saturday and more stops in between to settle few other thing lagi. Ahh..work is never end, all I need is extra days for the weekend.

Antibiotic Overdose

Just to share with you all one article that I found. Lately memang macam trend sangat doctor likes to prescribe antibiotic. Demam sikit antibiotic, batuk sikit antibiotic, even for babies/kids! Alhamdulillah so far Zahra takde ambil antibiotic even though pernah prescribed twice (for cough and fever) because since I was a little girl, my mom very sceptic with antibiotics. It's like last resort for us if the sakit didn't go away. So I practice the same, I just wait and observe Zahra..kalau bagi ubat biasa tak jalan baru la nak bagi the antibotic.

I understand that some doctors give the antibiotic because they want to kill the bacteria once for all, but on the other hand, you won't develop your own antibody to fight the bacteria. Sampai bila nak makan antibiotic right?

I noticed this when Zahra got her fever dulu, the doc gave her antibiotic then I asked what type, for what etc..he said try dulu this one sbb tak sure demam Zahra x surut kenapa, if the antibiotic doesn't work, we'll try another type. Like whatttt? So macam try and error kan? Alhamdulillah the fever went away a few days after that without the antibiotic.

Anyway, if there's a need, you still have to take it. It's just that it's too common now and seems fishy to me. Macam nak senang, ok lah...u makan ni, then lega, done. In the future we'll think later apa jadi. Don't you think prevention is better than cure? Below is the full article:-

Things to ponder upon

I am a bit busy this few days..anyway read this post from MariaQibby and would like to share it. After all it's a Friday, semoga kita mendapat baraqah daripadaNya.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear mums...

I have to share this with you... because i feel so happy and i feel that all my penat lelah paid off...

I started to make my Amna to solat 5 times a day when she was 7, on her 7th birthday...we had a talk...(check note lama) tapi preparation since 6 la...tapi dari kecik memang selalu ikut2 la kami solat....she hasnt missed her solat since. Walaupun lambat, tetap solat. I made sure of that - because the key is SOLAT ni kalau tak tanam dari kecik memang LIAT nanti....But it is very important to keep this in mind:-

1) kalau kita bagi dia tinggal WALAUPUN sekali nanti we are sending the wrong signal - kena make sure - every waktu without fail, walaupun penat, ataupun lambat

2)l Selalu kalau boleh solat together..mula2 memang kena solat together....kalau tak ada rumah make sure an adult in the house pastikan anak kita solat. (hari tu Amna pergi her reading class, i asked her teacher to take her to the suarau)
lepas solat time tu lah peluk cium, senyum - i always kiss her at the head and say "Barakallahufiha" Ya Allah make my Amna a good Muslim Ya Allah....make her never miss her solat Ya Allah.....kuat2 bagi dia dengar....ps:- kalau kena amik cuti ambillah - bukan waktu exam je amik cuti - buatlah STEP ini, yakni melangkah ke alam 7 thaun dan tidak meninggalkan solat A BIG Thing! "mama amik cuti hari ni sebab nak pastikan yang adik solat 5 waktu sehari!"

3)Selalu cerita how IMPORATAMT it is to solat..how Allah is watching us... how we are good Muslims when we solat, how Allah loves us, Solat tu, untuk kita, bukan untuk Allah.....TAPI selalu jugak cerita yang akan ada orang TAK solat...acknowledge the fact that sometimes we feel lazy to solat....itu semua kerja SETAN! Fight them off....! I tell Amna that even some grown ups tak solat! I tell Amna that....we have to be strong.. we have to tell ourselves we will NEVER miss our solat.....

4)Awal2 subuh ni memang tak bangunkan, tapi as soon as dia bangun pagi, ill ask her to solat straight away.(yes memang leceh..but we have to, and we have to do it with LOVE diselang seli dgn strictness)

5)kalau dia tinggal - DENGAN sengaja, i take the rotan and hit her on her tapak tangan slowly, just as a reminder. After that i hug her and tell her i love her, and i just want her to remember - and guess what?? memang dia ingat!!! (3 kali baru, i think not bad, sampai satu hari dia terlambat solat, sebab keluar dan memang tak ingat, dia yang suruh rotan) But i tell her kalau TERLUPA atau TERTIDUR its ok...but kena solat terus bila bangun.

Macam ni ceritanya, i told Amna, kalau Ummi ambik Amna dari sekolah lambat, Amna solat dulu Asar kat sekolah....tadi memang datang lambat...i was loking for her..and guess what????

She was actually praying her Asar prayers...i wanted to pengsan and cry...she did all by herself.... i pun told her how happy and how proud i was of her...i tanya dia kenapa? dia kata "Amna ingat apa Ummi cakap".....cair nya hatiku ini.

Apa lagi, Ummi ni peluk cium dia....and called nenek at Australia...now im sharing with all of you!!!Because i want us to raise generation of good Muslims that are disciplined, smart, intelligent -that remembers Allah because the world so BADLY needs good QUALITY Muslims like this!!!

And the foundation is - to start them off right - solat at SEVEN! Yes just as how Rasulullah asked us!

I love you all!!! Good night.....

** i took that picture of Amna praying from my table, dia sendiri bangun solat Isyak...without even bothering me..berbunga hati seorang ibu....

I don't know the original writer, if you know please leave me the link! I took it from here: http://mrshafiz.blogspot.com/2011/03/have-u-read-this.html. Thank you Maria for sharing this!

It's an eye opener to me, do not wait! In disciplining your kid. It started with solat, and others will follow.

I remember reading this somewhere, how to raise your kid based on our Prophet Muhammad SAW's advice:

1-7: shower them with endless love and play with them
7-15: start to teach them with discipline. You may hit them if they refused to perform the prayer when they are 9 (there is a guideline how you hit your kid btw)
15-21: be their friend
21 > : you can let them go

This really inspire me not only to do the best in raising up Zahra but also an inspiration to improve myself! Bad habit easily developed and one bad habit that I caught lately is when I missed any prayer, I won't jump with a rushed heartbeat in my chest and quickly qada' it like those days. Instead I will carry on my work like usual and promise myself that I will qada' it later. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't .

So must change myself first. Kalau tertido and miss it, ganti terus after dah bangun.

TGIF! Hope you have a good weekend! I'm going to my hometown this weekend and will fall into my mom's arms *how I miss her!*. I already call her on what I want her to cook for me hahaha. Ok see ya next week!

Japan Quake as Seen from Twitter

I originally read this from Yati Chomeyl who is residing in Japan now from this entry --> http://yatiechomeyl.blogspot.com/2011/03/lesson-learnt-from-japanese-people.html

I've been to Japan and yes the short 2 weeks vacation really open my eyes. They are indeed very polite and courteous that it's still fresh in my mind how warm I feel when I was there.

Original post: http://www.facebook.com/notes/jun-shiomitsu/japan-quake-as-seen-from-twitter-translated-by-me-so-quality-questionable/10150121176733830

And reading these twitters make me cry, like non-stop! I can't imagine this happen to us and looking at our situation now (where robbery is everywhere! and politician is busy with their own agenda and ASS, and where people is being selfish, remember the rice incident where everybody is busy digging the rice instead of helping the accident, etc etc etc), we will most likely turn to riot or so chaotic instead of being calm like them. OMG..this put Malaysia to shame.

To all the victims, hang on ok. Still true to yourself and this will end soon. Ameen ameen ameeeen...

Ps: Tengok news Malaysia hari ni --> http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2011/3/15/nation/8267516&sec=nation

Eeiii sakit hati ok! Cuba la jadi baik sikit semua org.

Japan mishap

I was in emotional turmoil last weekend with Japan unfortunate earthquake and tsunami. They were hit by the biggest earthquake ever recorded in Japan 9.0 and the tsunami hit them at 30 feet! Can you imagine?

It is winter now with still 0 degrees, and they have no electricity, no water, no house to live! And to add salt into the wound, their two nuclear power plant leaked!

Even their Sendai airport pecah and..OMG, seriously I can't imagine. It's like the whole city is wiped out into nothing and dah la derang ni modern, tiba2 hilang mcm tu je. Bukan flood biasa2, semua pecah. And I was touched by their minister's speech 'let's start rebuild everything now' *cried*

My deepest condolence goes to all the victims and stay strong ok. And ya Allah ya tuhanku, ringankan lah beban mereka. Limpahkan rahmat pada mereka, hanya Kau yg maha mengetahui.

Ramadhan Mubarak 1431 Hijrah

Oh my...

I have a lot of pending entries, too many stories to pour but the busy-ness is killing me. Not really hehe but really really busy. Ramadhan time supposed to be relaxing to me but seems like everything need to be done in time.

Anyway MrComot is ok already yeay! Alhamdulillah....

And it's already half of the fasting month but I still didn't write anything about it!

Well, Ramadhan this year is pretty much the same only that this is my first time celebrating it as mother. Nothing change, still break the fast at parents in law, still didn't cook anything ha ha ha. I don't know I should be happy or sad because MrComot just want to eat bread with butter and jam for iftar. Happy because I don't have to wake up early and prepare the food and sad because I don't get the chance to show off my skill, maybe? Hahaha.

So that's what we are having for now, bread-butter-jam-dates-boxed drinks. But I think one of the days I want to break the normality, I want to eat spicy sambal sardines with fluffly telur dadar and nasi putih PANAS PANAS! Hmm..maybe next week.

Actually deep down I think both of us want to eat nasi (because MrComot do eat nasi when we were at my hometown last year) but basically both of us just to lazy to face the hassle to prepare the dish. Yes I know I'm the wife and I should do it by myself. Excuseeeee meeeee! Takde masa ok. Nuff said.

And what else about Ramadhan? Oh ya..didn't manage to do terawikh yet :( Partly because we reach home around 10PM already and partly I'm quite lazy and tired. All I want to do after reach home is lie on the bed and sleep :(

My milk production is maintained at 10oz. Sometimes I get 8oz..depends but I pump 1 time only nowadays, lunch time. I wanted to write a single entry about breastfeeding during Ramadhan but since I don't really have the time, I will just summarize it here lah k. Another thing you need to consider is the quality of the milk (since we don't eat during the day). I browse around and found few tips of how to enrich your breast milk. Like usual, drink plenty of water, milk and don't miss sahur. But one tip I really like to try is blend almond with grapes (some kind like nut milk grape flavoured). It's said full of nutrients and protein and at the same time to power up the volume. I already bought the almond and grapes but have yet to blend it.

So how's your Ramadhan so far? I hope it brings all the good vibes to your life and will carry on even after it ends.

By the way, below is an array of Zahra Elena's pictures. She's all jolly and playful last night that I have to force her to sleep at 12AM! Geram betul. We off all the lights and stay quietly pretending to be sleeping but she still tossing her body here and there, doing her pumping action and some slide stunts. Sabar je lah.

Wondering what mommy's doing

Ohhhh taking picture. Already aiming at my camera (she wants to grab it)

Salivating over the camera

Ready...booooooo

Chakkkkkkk!!! Mommy cepat2 lari takut dia amik haha

Okla..hopefully not too late to wish you guys Happy Ramadhan and wish all of us will be blessed in this holy month ;)

Blood Test

The result for my full blood test just came back and I am so relieved that everything is alright. The last time I did a full screening was before married, that was like 3 years ago. I'm not really a health concious person, but I think yearly check-up is necessary. Furthermore my lifestyle is not even close to the ideal lifestyle - I eat almost everything especially when it comes to seafood and sweet things a.k.a sinful sugar and not to forget that I don't exercise. The only exercise I do now is breastfeeding as it says can burn calories up to 500kcal per session but it doesn't include any muscle activities.

The screening is quite comprehensive but the highlights will always be the cholesterol and sugar level.

Glucose at 4.0 (reference range: 3.9-6.1). Seems like I still can stuff all the fancy donuts! :D

Cholesterol is at 4.4 falls under desirable range *ehem*. However my LDL is a bit on high side (ideally will be below 2.58). I always mixed up between good and bad cholesterol but MrComot gives me a good way to remember - L is for lousy. So LDL is bad :P

Apart from the test, the lab also give me a nice folder complete with human anatomy and 'common symptom that you might be at risk for disease' chart, also common dietary reference and it comes to my surprise that lamb has lower cholesterol content than beef and salmon! I always thought lamb has very high cholesterol due to the "kambing panas!".

Oh ya, stay away from those tiny quail's egg. Kecil kecil cili padi, kolesterol paling tinggi!

Ps: Don't forget to check yours, prevention is better than cure ;)

Hadiah Tak Ikhlas

I got an sms from Clinique to redeem my birthday gift last few weeks and was quite excited about it. Not that I really fancy their stuff, but because it's free hehehe

So I rushed to MidV and received a nice packet from the salesgirl.

It's a pack of eyeshadow!

Unfortunately I'm not a make-up person and was hoping for a lip gloss. And plus I don't really dig the colour as I don't know how to blend gray+green+gray? I guess it's meant for smokey look. Anyway I decided to give it away to any of my friends and that's when I saw this;

Manufactured in May 2007!!

OMG! It is like, THREE YEARS AGO! And that's when your make up kit expired ok! Heloooooo, motip bagi menda expired? Hmmpphhh..so tak ikhlas!

Luckily I didn't buy anything from the counter just to please them when I receive the gift that day :P
