Big 5

My eldest one turns big 5 last Saturday *cliche mode: how fast time flies*

But seriously..it makes my heart flutter because I just have couple more years with her as a toddler, before she grows into kid, going to real school and that will be a different phase for us. By the time she got into school, no more pampering like a baby and I need to start focusing on disciplining her. Can it wait for..few more years? *sigh*

And it seems my ambition to stay at home, be with her won't be fulfilled until she got into school...or will never be fulfilled? I'm not sure, we don't really have aims for that. But seriously, deep inside, I want to be stay at home mom, raising the family. I know I still can be a mom while working, but this is my wish. Sigh.. a never ending issue ;)

So anyway, we plan to make small party in February since my FIL will be much better (he is still recovering now) and my mom and dad plan to come down too. So, we didn't say anything to her about party or birthday. She knows her birthday is in January, but really don't count the date. It was late in the afternoon when I decided, jom lah, throw some simple dinner for her and that's it, we went to Baskin Robbins to get icecream cake. She picked the rose design and didn't even suspect it since we said the cake is for nainai (grandma).

I made simple dinner..brought it to my PIL's house and we dine like normal occasion. Then when she was in other room, we switch off the light and light up the candle and then called her up said we wanted to go back, and when she reached the dining hall, everybody scream "happy birthday Zahra!!!"

The funny thing is, we were debating during the meal, is she really don't suspect anything or just acting not to know about the surprise. Not to suspect, is so not her because she was blabbering about her birthday weeks before. But to act not suspicious over anything...is too smart for a 5yo.

Anyway, by the look of her face, she is indeed surprised with the surprise. Oh boy..the innocent face and happiness like, "is this really for me?" is priceless. Nasib baik buat jugak birthday dia. Kalau tak mesti sedih hehe.

Our spread by yours truly

Baked chicken wing, slightly overcooked, lol

Instant baked pasta, from this recipe

Leafy and stuff, sprinkled with chia seed. I made orange vinaigrette for dressing.

Emir is giving speech, as the brother haha. Seriously I don't know what he said but Zahra seems so fascinated with it

Nainai and her uncle bought some gifts

Emir not excluded! Kena beli for 2 nowadays, kalau tak..kesian hehe
Anyway, it was a very last minute plan that we didn't get her anything pun. But we did bought present time to time for them, plus a couple of weeks ago, she discovered three toys that I bought during the Mattel warehouse sale, which I plan to take out slowly one by one when the time is right. THREE! Dang my precious savers. So basically she didn't ask, where's present from mommy and daddy. As long as she gets a present, it's good enough.

So!

Happy birthday sayang! You have no idea how much joy you brought into my life. If I ever think that I am wise and strong, I was wrong! You taught me patience and selfless love.

And thank you Allah for giving me the chance to have her. I will try my best to improve my life everyday in order to raise her as a good khalifah.

Cheeky Princess

Just a random babbling about my Zahra (sorry Emir, post about u will be up later! straight face )

She is 4 this year and doing well at school and at home. Still pretty much a fussy eater so I just let her drink her milk from the bottle. Don't really want to bottle wean her as she just need it before sleep, so no big deal. Totally diaper-less during the day, but not at night due to my laziness to train her. Maybe when she is 5 I'll think about it hehehe.

Pretty much a girlish girl, whom loves makeup and dress up. She won't go out if I don't do her hair nicely or not wearing a dress.

Look at the amount of her eyeshadow that she put on all by herself! And obviously in purple shades.  Very barbie-sh color.

Anyway, that's not about it. Thinking about he behaviour.

I think..4 years old is a cheeky phase for everyone. They start to talk well, they know what they feel and they have their own opinion. The best part is they started to have/expose to friends and have this kind of feeling towards others (other than mommy and daddy) which gives them a lot of emotion to play with.

There are few moments that brought me rolling-on-the-floor-laughing like this one moment:

(well, this isn't new, I already post it at my FB and IG, but want to fill my blog winking)

She was invited a friend's birthday party at school (it's kinda close party that day because it was on last school holiday) and the theme is Sofia the First. So she is pretty excited about it and ask me to wrap a gift for her. The invitation is kinda last minute (it was a day before!) so I didn't get the chance to buy any gift, luckily I have some Sofia the First FOE (foldover elastic) and I sew some hair tie for the birthday girl. Instead of the gift, Zahra insist me to pack this squarish thing, nicely with a pink polkadot wrapper and tie with pink yarn, and that squarish thing is..... a box of WET WIPES!

I don't understand her motive at first so I keep on telling her

"jangan la bagi wet wipes..it's not a proper gift, malu la mommy"
which she answered "it's okay, Yasmina suka wet wipes"

"no wet wipes la..sebab mommy nak pakai, Zahra bagi menda lain ok"
which she replied "it's ok, mommy boleh wipe pakai kain"

Okaaayyyyyy. Since she insisted, I was thinking, what the heck, bungkus je la and crossing my fingers that the birthday girl's mom won't find it weird that her daughter got a wet wipes as a present hahaha.

So anyway I asked her during the shower in the morning, right before we go to the party

"Why Zahra nak bagi Yasmina wet wipes?"
"Becauseeee I want to tell her that I give her princess castle and when she got home, she open...HAAAAHHHHH wet wipessss??!?!?! and I laugh"

And then terkekeh-kekeh dia gelakkan Yasmina. Siap action with hands wide open, sign of surprise.

I was stunned at first with the answer because it's unpredictable and then... burst out laughing.

My Godddddd...this lady! Kecik-kecik dah pandai kenakan orang! Siap nak cakap bagi princess castle tu! Where she got all this idea! I was thinking to brush off the idea, but it will break her spirit so I just play along with her. After all, nothing harm for a girl to get a box of wet wipes right? It's useful!

Anyway, I don't really know what happen after that day. I  mean, betul ke Yasmina terkejut? Or she just think "apahal dapat wet wipes?" LOL.

And the second incident is this morning. I packed some princess fabric (I've been hoarding a lot of designer cotton lately) for my friend's viewing to turn it into pillow then suddenly she said

"Mommmmyyyy...mommy jangan la bagi kawan mommy kain princess ni"

"Ok...mommy nak bagi kawan mommy tengok je"

"Nanti mommy bagi dia tengok tapi lepas tu kawan mommy suruh jahit, mommy jahit yg OWL ok! Nanti dia terkejut!"

Ewahhh ewahhhhhh..kawan mommy pun Zahra nak kenakan eh?

Hahaha if you look at her face and listen to the tone, so funny ok, bersemangat ni nak kenakan orang.

Kids...

My cheeky princess!!

Last but not least, if you like to follow my IG - aanandes

Well, nothing fun..just a random thought there winking

Mummy is the Name-o

The performance by 4yo during the "Make Muffin with Ummi Day". Actually I was so surprised with this performance because Zahra was very secretive about it. She says not a word about singing or dancing or performing! And being her, I never know she can keep a secret. Normally mesti excited nak cerita things like this or even practice at home. And suddenly here she is doing the moves so well! *tears*

Princessing Time

Zahra is pretty obsessed with tiara nowadays. It started around last week when I bought her the tiara for her birthday party at her kindy. She's been parading in it, like all-the-time!

Princessing during bedtime

She even requests to wear it out, in public. Not that I really care, but it's kinda embarrassing to me. I mean, princess sangat kah anak kau? Hahahaha. Anyway it's just a phase and I don't want to spoil the moment for her, so I just let her wear whatever she wants (even sometimes her choice is kinda weird, but who am I kidding, I am not that fashionista pun!).

And apart of her tiara, she is pretty obsessed with her baby stroller too! She's been asking it for ages and I bought it online at RM35 + RM9 shipping that will be RM44, because I thot the one at toysrus is around RM60.. but then a couple of weeks later, I went to toysrus and found the baby stroller only at RM49.90!!! Just add a few ringgit more and you'll get a much better stroller. MUCH MUCH MUCH better in fact that I hate myself for not surveying enough. Grrr.. (anyway, I think I might buy the toysrus one later, because it is sooo nice! I know..such a waste right)

OK enough rambling. So she loves pushing her baby stroller very much and wants to bring it e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e! Again, it's kinda embarrassing but oh well... it's the time she's wild with imagination, so why not!

Pushing babies at Curve. With magic wand some more!

Peeking shops

Resting at the street, admiring the fountain. Apparently pushing stroller is a big job and tiring.
And do you know that she even wears the tiara to her school! Ok... I tried my best to make her keep the tiara at home but she rebuts all my words so there she is. I wonder how she feels wearing the tiara. Did I spoil her? And I wonder what the teachers think of her (and me! the mom whom let her daughter wears tiara to school as if she is the only princess. Gahhh!!!)

I hope she won't turn out vain or anything like that and this become just another fun thing that a 4yo kids do :)

Video Day

Wish I can write more but kinda rushed. To treat this silence, I present you guys two videos of my kids doing their thang!

This is how they sing Let It Go in hyper mode. Look at Emir. I wonder how children can take the spin. It gives me headache by just looking at him.

Their current favourite activity before bedtime. Jumping never been so fun!

Ok catch you guys later!

Tailor Wannabe

If you are in my FB friendlist, or follow my IG, you'll notice that I've started sewing. I'm not really keen on real sewing, like the tailoring and drafting stuff. Just simple one on creative side.

Anyway, Zahra is a real princessy type. She only wears dress nowadays and refused to wear shirt with legging because apparently, princess only wear dresses "-_-.

I'm fine with it but the hardest part is most of her dresses are kinda short (slightly above the knee) and the school encourage the children to wear legging underneath it to promote decency (which I totally agree) but Zahra said "princess tak pakai legging". okaaayyy. So I kinda ran out of dresses for her schooldays already.

Wanted to buy some but a dress can cost so much nowadays. Especially the fluffy and long type one. Some of her old shirts is still in a very good shape, so I decided to refashion it, and turn it into a dress!

From this
To this

It is really simple indeed. I just cut some pink tshirt knit in my stash as the lining and gather the tutu @ mesh @ kain net orang kita panggil, and attach it to the shirt. There are several types of tutu in the market, this is the soft type where it won't make your skin itch (so you don't have to line it if you don't want to) but I line it since it's sheer. I found this fabric in Kamdar. I ran out the pink glitter tutu so I mix it up with purple plain tutu.

Presenting you...a new dress!
And she proudly wears it to school! But I'm far from commercial because one of the teacher asked me did I make the dress by myself &^*&^&%&## LOL! It must look so homemade! Hahaha. Nevermind..at least she has one 'new' dress in her wardrobe now.

New Tounge

Zahra undergo a minor operation for her tongue-tie couple of weeks ago. It's something that she has and we noticed since she was a baby. We already consulted the specialist and he said as long as she can breastfeed, there's nothing to worry about, and that we'll worry about her speech later. So we didn't do any snipping on her. If you noticed, there is a few of her childhood photo sticking out the tongue and it forms a lovely heart-shape due to the tie.

This is how normal tongue tie looks like. Pic googled.

She is 4 now and her speech is fine (at least to me) so I didn't know that some of her pronunciation is weird. Not until we went to see ENT to check on Emir because of his speech delay. We wanted to check if he has any hearing problem (and thank God everything is alright) and we brought Zahra together and they were playing and laughing in the doc's room and that's when the doc asked if Zahra has tongue tie. I guess he has seen thousands of patients and can pick up any symptom with close eyes.

So there she goes, an appointment for laser cut the tongue tie under full GA.

Alhamdulillah everything went well and she's all good. The only challenge is to dress her in the OT dress and she refused to wear it and how to persuade her to go to the OT room. 4yo kid is full of wisdom and has their own thinking, we can't just pin her down and force her right?

Initially, she was given a normal children OT gown in yellow and she started to cry, refusing to wear it

"Zahra tanak tukar baju. Baju ni tak cantik"

"Ok, mommy pakai together. Doctor nak check mommy..so Zahra teman mommy k. Nak masuk bilik tu kena pakai baju macam ni"

"Tanakkkk baju ni tak cantikkkkk"

Dah start berdramaaaaa. Thankfully the nurses and doctors are very kind and they helped us a lot, by persuading her and give us sweet time to dress her. One of the nurse siap pergi cari gown lain and give her the adult version.

"Ok Zahra pakai yg ni..yg ni besarrrr kembang2 macam princess"

Boleh?

Finally when we get to dress her, we have to push her to the waiting room before the OT room, and spent about 15mins there..so she started to feel anxious and realized that the procedure is about her. I keep on telling her that doctor wants to make her tongue beautiful like mommy and daddy and she can stick it out very far (with demo). All the attendants are very good with kids too (as most of them have children around Zahra's age) so they know how to entertain her. They give coloring books, talk to her, say that she's pretty like a princess (suka la budak tu!) and make balloon out of the gloves. There are times when she started to be cranky and asking for her daddy but only one parent can be there. That's the longest 15 mins I've ever been.

Princess and her daddy in normal ward, before the op

Getting ready for the op. One of the nurse offered to snap this pic and look at her sour face.

While waiting for the op. Doc giving her funny face glove-balloon. So sweeeet.

When we were  in OT, she had to suck the anesthesia gas and kena buat macam2 to persuade her. The GA siap bagi Zahra main game dekat his hp boleh? I told her that doctor want to test if she can blow the tube just like she blow balloon and her swimming pool because at the end of the tube there is small pump that kembang and kempis according to her breathing and the trick works. Gigih la dia bernafas in that tube and then pengsan hehehe.

I had to leave her with the doctors after that. Parents are not allowed during procedure.

Post procedure. It is oxygen tube to  make sure she has enough oxygen to breathe.

The oxygen and heartbeat monitoring. Reading is constantly 98-100 which is good.

Food provided. Plain porridge and icecream which she takes none. She was too sleepy to eat after that and just asked for a bottle of milk.

The moment she woke up, she saw her wrist is bandaged with drip and started to cry, request me to take it off. Normally the hospital won't take it off because if the patient vomit out or something else happen, they can plug the tube directly without poking new needle. But since she started to get angry, we decided to take it off and cross fingers for anything bad. Thank goodness no vomit after a bottle of milk and she's all good.

Went to playground in the hospital after she's fully awake. Bounce back happily like nothing happen.

She slept for about 3 hours after the procedure due to GA effects. The doc told us that there will be no pain at all because it's laser but when she's all sober she said to me;

"Mommy, lidah zahra?!"

And started to merengek. She was prescribed with painkiller spray but she refused to use it and the next morning (about 24hrs after the operation) suddenly she cheerful said

"Mommy, lidah Zahra dah OK!!"

So...I guess there is a subtle pain for her.

Post op. The yellowish is the area that is cut by laser. It's ulcer but it's gone after about a week. We went for follow up last week and she's healing accordingly.

Last but not least, couldn't help not to post this. I feel like Grey Anatomys wannabe.

Anyway, I didn't notice any significant changes in her speech and she still trying to accustom to her new tongue. We need to encourage her to practice her new tongue capability by sticking out the tongue as far as she can (ie: licking icecream).

All in all, she was a brave and good young lady, even the doctors and nurses gave her that compliment and I am so proud of her.

The Little Princess is 4!!

Ok, let's take a break from my Cebu entry for a while ;)

My little princess turns 4 early of this January! How fast time flies. Unlike last year, I didn't throw any party for her due to time constraint. Oh ya, last year I buat party quite besar jugak, panggil all my friends and family because I consider macam makan-makan. But this year so busy, so I don't really plan anything. And dah lepas pun, so macam tak buat terus la kot :(

The thing is, she still remembers last year's party and keep telling me "Mommy, Zahra nak cake castle and princess Rapunzel". Last year cake dia Barbie.

Then I just said, "ok, nanti mommy carikan"

Sorry Zahra..mommy memang tak sempat :(

We didn't throw any party but we were invited for birthday bash at the ex-babysitter's. There is another kid that shares the same birthdate so macam double celebration la.

She was sooo happy, get to see all her old friends. They've been running, naik tingkat 8 turun balik tingkat 7. I can see how much fun she had, time ni she still not adjusting well at the new school and has no new friend.

Another small celebration, not her birthday though, it was a luncheon and we bring a homemade cake (which is a bit burned) and let her blow the candle hehe

I don't know how to tell her about the cake...but I think she understands that there is no party this year. She got a few nice present though from relatives..mommy and daddy didn't give anything hehehe. Again, I don't think it's necessary sebab dia dah banyak gila kot toys! Macam spoilt pulak. All she need now is time with her mommy. So I'll try my best to spend as much as quality time with her.

So what she's up to at 4 (dah lama tak tulis perkembangan macam ni hehe). Well, I'll say she's kinda mature for her age. Speaks well and has empathy. She understands all my emotions even though when I tried to hide it, like when I am so angry and I just answer "hmmm" she will say "mommy jangan la marah", then I said, "mana marah?" and she will point out, "tu mommy cakam hmm macam tu"

Quite opinionated. Will tell me what she feels/thinks and firm about what she wants. But in some situation, I still can reason with her, provided I get to answer all her questions. Like is she wants something and I said no, i must give a solid reason why she can't have that.

Love craft related activity especially drawing. Ahhh I forgot the snap her drawings..quite well I'll say.

Love acting with her own dialogue and making faces. Love being a princess and like to wear tutus. Most of the dress mesti ada simple tulle for daily wear.

Hate vegetables but still loves broccoli. Pretty much a fussy eater but her appetite getting better these days, after she goes to school.

Potty trained but I still let her wear diaper during the night because I'm lazy to train her, but most of the nights she keeps it dry, unless she was very tired.

And the biggest achievement recently is, she's already making friends at school! I'm sooo happy for her. This is a crucial and big adjustment in her childhood that part of me want her to stay at the babysitter's forever but she has to face this.. changing and being flexible. It took her sometimes but she's making a progress so Alhamdulillah.

I didn't know about her friends until she keeps on mentioning few names and I was thinking, ok, maybe that's a few yg nice towards her..then 2 days ago, we were packing up goodies bag for relatives for coming CNY when she said;

"Mommy, Zahra nak dua boleh? Zahra nak bagi dekat Yasmina and Falihah"

I swear I almost cry ok...my little princess is not so little anymore. She manages to make friends, she understand the feeling of adoring other people and the value of being nice to people she likes.

Happy 4th birthday sayang. Mommy loves you so much. That you have no idea :)

My Little Repunzel

Have you watched Tangled? Ok..what a silly question. It is eons ago but the movie always grows on me. The character, the song..it is so magical. I never get bored watching it, so Zahra. She loves this version of Repunzel so much and I always wanted to make Repunzel playdress for her but couldn't spare the time, until I read this tutorial from LiEr :- http://www.ikatbag.com/2013/04/wig.html

It looks easy and simple enough to do it in a short time so I decided to give it a go. I tried to find nude or yellowish fleece to make it as close as Repunzel's hair in the movie but couldn't find it..well, I found one at Kamdar but the quality is not that good, so I opt for this brownish color. It's fleece blanket from Tesco actually. Well, it's long and wide enough, so that will do.

Cut about 6 strips

combine all. Fleece won't fray so you don't have to serge it.

Snip some bang

Tadaaaaaa!!! Well, it's a bit loose as the pattern is for older age.
And she's so happy with it. Keep on twirling with the 'long' hair.

I altered it a little bit after that - just add a few cm of hem to make the cap tighter. Anyway, I made this in September 2013 and she still loving it til now. Am so so so happy I made this!

Latest pic with the wig last month. Repunzel is going shopping!

I think I should make costume dresses for her. I can always buy...but it's so exciting to make by myself. Somehow it makes me feel like a superwoman LOL. But I just couldn't fit the time, so I guess I am not a superwoman after all :-)

Say NO to strawberry-flavor!

Just to share something interesting that I just learnt.

A couple of weeks ago, Zahra had another allergy attack. Quite bad since it stirred up her breathing that she had to do the nebulizer thingy.

still manage to pose a smile for me. she looks absolutely healthy minus the wheezing sound.

It happened on Saturday when I noticed she has this wheezing sound which is so not her. But she looks normal though, running here and there, and chatty as usual. So I just brushed it off but night came by and the wheezing didn't go away. I felt a little uneasy about it, so I bought her to a clinic.

Turn out that she IS having a wheezing which means her airways is tighten and she needs to take the Ventolin inhaler *thank God for mother's instinct*. So she had a neb and a few meds, went back, closely monitor her condition and by morning, the wheezing slightly still there, so we went to second clinic for another opinion and another round of nebulizer.

Alhamdulillah she's all better after that with no further medication.

Ok, so lets talk about what causing this allergy. According to the doctor, it could not be not an allergy at all. It could be that her body is stress out (due to trying to adjust to new environment at the new school) and she is exposed to new kind of germs that she's not used to like at the babysitters. Well, it does make sense, with new school and what not, stress is the word.

At the same time, I asked her did she take anything strawberry flavored at school and she said, YES! She had strawberry buns! I texted the teacher and asked about it and yes it's true. My bad that I didn't remind her about Zahra's allergy.

Anyway, this is her third allergy attack linked with strawberry flavor, I've blogged about it before here and here. And yes now we came to a conclusion that she is allergic to strawberry flavored, not the yogurt. She can take any kind of yogurt as long as nothing to do with strawberry.

The thing is, Zahra doesn't has any problem with strawberry, which look like this.

She can has a whole pack of strawberries if she wants to, and has no problem at all. Problem came when she had anything strawberry flavored. Which is mind-boggling, but funny thing is I NEVER googled about it, because.. I don't know, it just slipped from my mind I guess.

Until one of MrComot's friends googled it and let me tell you that....

........ It's NOTHING strawberry about strawberry-flavored.

In fact, it contains 50 different chemicals to make it "strawberry" which include:

Amyl acetate, amyl butyrate, amyl valerate, anethol, anisyl formate, benzyl acetate, benzyl isobutyrate, butyric acid, cinnamyl isobutyrate, cinnamyl valerate, cognac essential oil, diacetyl, dipropyl ketone, ethyl acetate, ethyl amyl ketone, ethyl butyrate, ethyl cinnamate, ethyl heptanoate, ethyl heptylate, ethyl lactate, ethyl methylphenylglycidate, ethyl nitrate, ethyl propionate, ethyl valerate, heliotropin, hydroxyphenyl-2-butanone (10 percent solution in alcohol), a-ionone, isobutyl anthranilate, isobutyl butyrate, lemon essential oil, maltol, 4-methylacetophenone, methyl anthranilate, methyl benzoate, methyl cinnamate, methyl heptine carbonate, methyl naphthyl ketone, methyl salicylate, mint essential oil, neroli essential oil, nerolin, neryl isobutyrate, orris butter, phenethyl alcohol, rose, rum ether, g-undecalactone, vanillin, and solvent.

And it is listed as No #1 as fake food that you wish you won't have it in the kitchen.

click for details

Ok, now that answers what has been going on and don't you thing this stuff is shit-scary?

So strawberry flavored is definitely a no-no in the pantry after this. No matter how delicious they might be.

You want a strawberry milkshake? Just dump a handful of fresh strawberries in milk and blend it. You love strawberry cake? Bake it yourselves if you can, but stay away from the obvious flavored one if store-bought. Other than that, maybe you can eat something-else rather than this 50-chemicals mix.

The Balloon-blower Spirit

Zahra loves balloon. Who doesn't right? There's something with that air-filled rubber that incites fun.

She's been trying to blow her own balloon since couple of weeks ago, but she will never get it right because she still don't get the 'pinch the opening after you blew, and blow again after u catch up the breath' concept. I showed her once but she couldn't do it, so I just let it go, no big deal.

But a few nights ago, she did it right!!! I was sooo surprised because she's been doing it all alone in the toys room.  My first reaction was, screaming with excitement:

"Wahhhhh clevernya Zahra!!!!"

I consider it as a big achievement and am so proud of her. Well, typical mom isn't it. Hahaha.

Her first blowing balloon right!!

Look at her face, so excited as the balloon getting bigger.

And she couldn't get enough! She blows balloon every night after.

And coincidentally somebody gave us a bag of balloons last week, so here she goes.

Of course it won't go to waste, those precious carbon dioxide - having fun with them.

She has been swimming with the balloon every single night now, and of course hensem boy loving it too! Too bad I didn't get to snap his pic with the balloon, he moves too fast /:)

The house looks like we are having a party as balloons are everywhere. But it's kinda cute, so I can live with it ;)

Persuasive Princess

I had this fun conversation with Zahra couple of nights ago, in the car on the way back home from work.

She asked me to choose between Dora's house or Barbie's house, and by choosing means, I HAVE to pick Dora's because Barbie's is hers by default =D

But I'd like to play with her a little bit to see her reaction. Zahra asked:

"Ok, mommy nak rumah Dora ke rumah Barbie?"

"Mommy nak rumah Barbie"

"Mommy amik rumah Dora. Rumah Dora cantik"

"Mommy nak rumah Barbie jugak"

"Rumah Dora color pink"

"Mommy  nak rumah Barbie jugak"

"Rumah Dora best"

"Mommy  nak rumah Barbie jugak"

"Mommy amik Dora. Dora princess."

"Mommy  nak rumah Barbie jugak"

"Ok..mommy amik Dora. Dora barbie"

Up to this point, i lost it and burst into laugh. Nak jugak I take the Dora and declares Dora as barbie hahaha.

"Ok..Dora barbie? Mommy nak lah!"

In the end I hugged her tight gave her the winning trophy. Such a funny girl!

Ponty Ponty sat on the wall

Zahra enjoys doing art stuff but she rarely draws. I think she doesn't really like drawing. I even persuade her into drawing (because I love drawing hehe) by buying a lot of color pencils, crayons, give her freedom to draw anywhere she likes, but she just doesn't want to. And yesterday, she randomly pick a lying A4 paper and draws something.

I was busy cleaning up so I didn't join in and casually ask her while walking here and there:

"Zahra lukis apa tu?"

"Zahra lukis ponty ponty"

Out of curiosity what is ponty ponty, I picked the drawing and squealed excitedly:

"Oh my God!! Cantiknya Zahra lukis!"

And I meant it seriously.

Her ponty ponty is actually Humpty Dumpty and personally I think she drew it well, because I never knew she can draw.

"Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again"

It's one of her favorite nursery rhymes.

Anyway I was feeling super excited so I asked her to sing the rhymes. We don't really use English for daily conversation so she was a bit confused with the words and pronunciation, but here it goes!

Humpty Dumpty Zahra's version ;)
