Langkawi - Day 1

Holla!

Finally I managed to squeeze some effort to update about the Langkawi trip. It was a 3 nights 4 days trip and I would say a tiring one! This is our first time bringing little one jalan-jalan and oh my...it's not easy. Most of it is because she's not so well, kesian dia, but I think she had a good time there.

Saturday, 8th January 2011

We took the flight + hotel ticket from AirAsia and stayed in Meritus Pelangi Langkawi Resort. I will write an entry on the hotel in separate story.

We started our journey around 8AM as our flight is at 10AM. Started to pack the night before but pagi2 pun macam2 tertinggal, baju Zahra tak cukup la, her wet wipes la..haha..all is about her. We planned to have breakfast in airport but was a bit rushed, so quickly checked in and had some light food to combat the hunger.

2 pack of simple nasi lemak + 3 in 1 hot Milo = Rm15.50!

It is the most expensive breakfast (considering the food) we ever had! Nasi lemak tu plain je, sambal ikan bilis with telur bahagi 8 haha. So, kalau cukup masa, jgn la makan kat kedai lepas check in tu ok ;)

Mommy with Zahra Elena

She wasn't so well that day, her temp is about 37.5 deg but still a good sport. Thank you darling!

After breakfast, while waiting to board. Zahra all jumpy and happy with the cold steel chair. All she wanted to do is sucking the handle ish ish ish.

I had to pull her from the chair most of the time and she will shriek to protest like this.

We didn't bring our stroller so Zahra is in the kangaroo pouch most of the time. Kesian dia, dah la dia panas kan (because of the fever) so she was wriggling restless after a while.

Zahra Elena with her new hairclip! I made this before we off to Langkawi, it is a rushed job and didn't come out like the one I imagined :(
Tapi comel kan? Comel la kata la comel haha. Stay tuned for more hairclips, I have to practice before betul2 puas hati untuk jual ;)

We reached Langkawi around 11AM, haggle for car rental at the airport, got an automatic Viva for RM150 for 3 days! Not so bad lah kan. Since we don't know where to have our lunch, MrComot just turn on his GPS and found a nearby ikan bakar stall on the way to Chenang.

Here is our lunch! Pari, kembong and terubuk bakar yum!

This stall sells various type of grilled fish and seafood and ready-cooked lauk-pauk. You'll be spoiled for choices! Not to mention that is cheap! Just look at the price tag.

Flavoured drinks for only 50cent! Mana mau cari hehehe

Us in front of the shop. Zahra Elena dah big girl kan..

We arrived the hotel quite early as the check-in time is at 2PM so we had to wait for a while. Zahra playing with the display trishaw at the hotel.

After checked in and freshen up, we wandering the Kuah town to see the duty free shops. Kuah is a small town and we managed to visit almost all the major shops like Haji Ismail Group, Zeno, Idaman Suri, and Langkawi Fair Shopping complex. I went to Langkawi Fair complex because I read that they sell cheap Clarks and Hush Puppies shoes. Tipu je la..sama je harga..or maybe I'm not sure the real price.

Idaman Suri

Didn't buy anything major yet (just few bits of chocs) because I still want to see few other shops before decided on what to buy. Seee perempuan! Haha because we didn't really plan to shop in Langkawi, but bila pergi kedai2 tu, rambang mata ok.

Had dinner in Wonderland, Kuah town. It's recommended by our rental car guy and it was full that night! Luckily we managed to get a table immediately but still, we had to wait for almost 1 hour for our food to arrive! People still patronizing that place at 10PM! Maybe because it was Saturday night.

Wonderland restaurant.

The crowd

What we had

Clockwise - Grilled lobster (decorated with carrot-net), steamed snapper with garlic and chili padi, deep fried squid, and baby kailan with garlic. Lobster is pretty cheap in Wonderland, it is priced at Rm18 per 100g.

Zahra can sit still kejap je, lepas tu nak berjalan-jalan lah.

This is the episode where she started not to eat a single solid food. I guess she was too excited, with different air and people. Since it is off-peak, the places full of white man and they are very friendly 'hello-ing' her. Maybe she was a bit overwhelmed with all the attentions.

That's pretty much summed up what we did in Langkawi on the 1st day.

Since tomorrow is public holiday, I won't be updating on Langkawi story (or other story too! Hehe depending on my availability). And I am extend my holiday til Friday! :D

Hope you guys have a good weekend!

Back to normal

Zahra Elena is back eating solid food, yeay! Alhamdulillah..

I didn't really do anything. I just encourage her to eat by offering her different food everytime she seems free and relax. I gave her so many thing, biscuits and bread most of the time as it's easy access hehe.. and never force her if she refused, kang tak pasal2 trauma pulak. And on Saturday night, she decided to eat and guess what she had?

PEAS!! Her worst enemy! Haha!

I just boiled the frozen peas because I don't know what else to offer her and caught by surprise to see her enjoying it! But becareful with frozen peas as the outer skin can cause choking, so I pinched the skin out before let her eat it.

Now she also eats her normal porridge and tofu. Thank God.. I am already at my end wit what to give her hehe.

Ok baby, lets get back the kilos :P

My BIG 1 year Pwincess!

Hola everybody!!!

Thanks for all the wishes, Aandes and her family is doing pretty okay now. Zahra Elena is bouncing and kicking, minus the hingus yang ala-ala and morning cough. Pagi2 kan sejuk, so she still cough a bit.

Anyway, just to announce here, Zahra Elena is 1 YEAR OLD! Thanks for the wishes aunties!

We were in Langkawi on her birthday and I already have this picture in my mind that we will have little celebration in the hotel room, complete with lights off, cupcake and candle and I'll teach Zahra to blow the candle yadayadayada.. you know lah all the fancy schmancy ..where the truth is, all of us fell on the bed flat. And woke up at 4AM because Zahra temperature is shooting up (she wants to BF that time and her body is so hot!). I quickly gave her paracetamol and change her sleepsuit to lighter clothing and sponging her body until morning. So that's how she marks her first birthday, hehe..

So let see what she can do now..

She got her rabbit tooth! Exactly around the birthday week! Hehe so cute.

Latest picture at 1 year 3 days old

She is in pre-walking phase - bertatih-tatih. Can stand by herself without supporting on something else, but rarely do that. There are a few times where she will stand and walk, max 3 steps then stop! Hehe. Enjoy walking with us very much where I have to hold both of her hands, and she will direct me wherever she wants to go.

On food, she STOP EATING on the day we reached Langkawi. AT ALL. I tried to give her almost everything, rice, porridge, fruits, noodles, etc but she will close her mouth as tight as she can and ignores me. Ok maybe she wants adult food, I even tried to give her cendol pulut ok! Hah! Tanak jugak, so howw? Basically she only survives by direct feeding from her mummy *sigh*

We went to the clinic for medical checkup after return from Langkawi and according to her doctor, babies are like that. They can stop eating like a switch, OFF it. Since she seems active and fully breastfed, the doc said give her some time like a week more and back to the clinic if she still refusing food. So yeah..we will wait for another week, hope the switch button will back to ON.

Her current weight is 7.9kg! She supposed to triple up her birth-weight = 10.2kg but again, as long as she active, ok la.. Of course la doctor tu tak risau, dia siap joget2 depan doctor tu, excited betul. Actually I pun tak worry sangat about the weight, more worry about not eating part. Sampai bila kan?

Her height, tak ukur lagi.

Hmm what else?

Oh ya, she knows how to say 'Nak' for a drink and she will pull my shirt at the boobs while says 'nak nak nak nak nak' for milk. Haha comel betul.. She also knows how to do few simple tricks like grip her hands on and off when we sing 'cak cekok udang gamitttt', swing her body when we say 'La Ilaha Illallah', wave when we say bye bye and yell 'babarrdddd' *insert very strong high tone here* when I point to a bird. Her fine motor is alright I guess, she can hold the small ixora flower and pick coins pretty well.

On her personality, as for now she is an extrovert. She likes being with people, doesn't mind to be carried by strangers, and lovesssss how people pay attention to her, like whenever somebody says hello, she will gives the biggest grin and sometimes with extra facial expression, depending on the person himself.

Masa kat Langkawi, during mealtime, all she wants to do is walking and will stop at every occupied table, waiting for the tourist to talk to her. Dalam flight pun siap pegi pegang bahu abang2 at the front seat. Attention seeker betul!

Well, that's my 1 year pwincess! Hehe. Happy birthday sayang! And no matter how much mommy whine about you, I love you so mucho mucho much! Every little thing you do bring so much joy to my life and mommy whines because you mean a lot to me. We whine on people that we care right? If we don't care, there is nothing we care to whine about ;)

Under the Weather

All of us are under the weather after back from Langkawi. I have this headache and flu, MrComot with his phlegm and flu, n Zahra Elena is also has flu and cough.

Langkawi was awesome but tiring as little one had high fever on her birthday! Thank God it's nothing serious that we managed to combat with paracetamol.

I am on EL today as she's not so well and my mom is in town. Will try to update later.
