When everybody is settling down..

One of my closest girlfriends got engaged last Saturday. It was a close and intimate event placed at her house.

I have nothing much to write about as I'm bad in writing about others, especially one that close to me (merepek about diri sendiri pandai la), but I'm glad that all my BFF are going to settle down. Looking back, I still miss our uni time (especially the slurpy nights! walking to 7E in baju kurung in the middle of the night! haha) but that's how life play us. We'll move to different phases and have our own life.

Oh ya, all of us have different characters that I always wonder how we can stay together for so long. One is soft and undecided, one is very proper and has a clear road-map of her life, one that look strong and tough but actually manja and fragile and one mengada-ngada (that will be me :P).

Hahaha..semua character mengutuk ok, so girls cepat pick which one fits u well? No matter what it is, love you all to bits ok :D

According to then plan, all of them will settle down for real next year, insyaAllah and I can't wait to go to their weddings. Please make sure tak clash tarikh ok.

Oh myy...I wonder if our relationship will change after the family-thingy. Hopefully not. Maybe we can make family dinner sometimes? Remember that ok? :D

Stroller's Hype

Another purchased we made during the warehouse sale is a stroller. Anyway, I am not well versed with strollers as we haven't had the time to do more surveys. This stroller is more like an impromptu shopping sebab dah peninggggg tatau nak pilih apa. But in the end, I think it's a worthy buy. So I'm gonna share more about it.

We started to survey on strollers since October but there are so many types in market and we have no idea what kind of stroller we need to have. So we decided to go on budget.

The first stroller that caught my eyes was Peg Prego Pliko P3 and sold at 1,499 which I find quite lavish for a stroller. So we made up our mind to check out strollers below 1K. There are few models that can offer between our budget like from MacLaren, Silver Cross, Graco, Combi, MyDear, MamaLove, and Sweet Cherry brands

I was tempted to get MacLaren sebab so called sporty and branded and nice and yet still in our budget la! But, I hate the design as they don't have the front bar and I find it is not practical.

My other criteria for a stroller should be light but sturdy, not bulky, easy for me to manage (open, close, etc), feel nice when I push and looks ok too. So we opted for Silver Cross and Combi (as I read many mommies love Combi so much).

By the way, buying stroller is not that critical for us as we think our baby will only use it a few months later, so basically we still have ample time to do more surveys. And it wasn't in our plan to buy strollers during the warehouse.

At the warehouse, strollers are freaking cheap that they also got RM100++ one! But of course it is quite filmsy. To me it doesn't matter as long as it fits the purpose and depending on parent's budget kan. So we keep on browsing and believe me, I buat pusingan at strollers area berpuluh-puluh kali ok. I even asked the salesman to make a demo to me, how to open and close 4 strollers! Ok 4 maybe tak banyak, but mind you it was a very HOT day and packed with people. MrComot senyummmm je :P

In the end we decided to buy Capella Harmony S228. The tag showed original price is 899 and they are selling it for 500 at that time. To tell you the truth, we have no freaking idea how a Capella is priced at, so we gamble je beli, boleh?

The reason we settled for it, is because it fits all the things I wanted and MrComot seems to like it very much. I on the other hand still wanted to do more surveys. When we reached home and test more, I'm glad we bought it, so that I don't have to pening-pening anymore and guess what, we checked online and recommended price for this model is around 800-1000! There is a site selling it at discounted price of 699, so we still save 200!!

Anyway, below is the criteria of the stroller and I love it so much!

Detachable front bar (I feel it is more safe with the front bar, but this is only my feeling :D)

It also has reversible handle and I like this so much because I have an option to push my baby while watching her.

Another plus point is all the 4 wheels can be moved! (Most of the strollers only allow 2 front wheels) So it is like 4-wheels drive. And all of them also freely spin 360 degrees. I don't know if it's good thing or not, but I kinda like the feeling when I push it, swift and clean moves.

Oh ya, btw there were 2 version of Capella, the other one is mini Capella (not sure the model type but I think S228 too), the only different is it is a bit smaller, can't do reversible handle and don't have the reclining level. It is RM100 cheaper at the warehouse.

The reclining level. MrComot likes this so much because the gap of our height is quite big, so we can adjust the height to our liking.

The double compact folding. I find it is small, just compare to me yg petito (hahaha still perasan petite even though I'm heavily pregnant).

Other than that, it's very easy to manage. I don't need to use so much energy to open or fold it --> this is very important as I might going out alone and need to use the stroller sorang-sorang. I even can use one hand only (with a knee to 'sepak' :P) and POP, the stroller is ready to be used. Oh ya the canopy also UV protected (which I don't think it matters as most of the time we'll use the stroller inside mall, no?) and very lighweight = 6 kgs!! And the seat can be reclined flatly, so it is also suitable for infant.


Oh ya, we didn't manage to checkout on the carseat but I think it's a worth buying too as I see most parents bought it. We still don't know what type of carseat we need to buy and I already nak pitam time tu. Maybe mommies or anybody can share or recommend to me which brand is good and worth your money? :) Thanksss :*

This is my current most favourite junk food. I looooveeee it so much that I can finish a whole pack in a blink. But MrComot made a rule, only one pack per week.

So I'm having it bits by bits slowly. 1 more day to go before Saturday, then can get another pack, yeay!!

Baby Cot

As promised before, I'll write about buying baby cot. The main reason I'm going to do this because we've been spending a lot of time surveying (online and at the shops), and it is a tiring experience. First, because we don't know what exactly baby cot is, the package and all, second we are torn between playpen or baby cot. So I hope this entry will enlighten mommies outside about baby cot in Malaysia.

Some of my friends say it's better for us to get playpen as it is cheaper (there is a very expensive one though) and easier to manage - no accecories like bumper pad, mattress, etc. After all, you will be sleeping with your baby. That's what they said la.

But I've plan on my own. I want my baby to sleep in the cot. I want to breastfeed my baby, but not sleeping with her. That's my plan. So we'll see how it goes.

Anyway, before I continue, to me buying baby stuff is very subjective. It's not that buy this will make you a better parents, buy that will make u less of it. After all, orang dulu-dulu ok je baring atas 'lembek' kat lantai. Sihat walafiat jugak kan? The truth is, we are spoilt for choices!! And I like it hehehehe..

Ok back to baby cot and my research

There are few types of baby cot, I've seen the pretty one at around RM4K and goshhh I was thinking, who's going to pay that much for a baby cot? Mcm dah harga king sized bed ok. And I've seen the filmsy one at slightly above RM100. After the heavy surveys, we come to conclusion that a decent baby cot (size 120 cm x 60 cm) is ranged from RM600-800 depending on sales and packages. Not too filmsy, looking nice and as I said, decent.

When you buy baby cot, it will comes with mattress. There are few types that you might want to consider:

1) Foam - the cheapest (can get around RM80)
2) Latex - RM200++ depending on the thickness
3) Spring + foam - price depending on the quality but more or less will be like latex
4) Fibre - made from coconut fibre, price RM100-200
5) Fibre + latex - RM150 - 200 (but we found a good one, made of Sri Lanka sold at RM500!)

Latex is the most recommended one because it has holes so called for breathing, so that when baby tergolek, the breathing won't stuck. However, some people don't like it because it is too soft. Oh ya, there is another version where they got FIRM latex + SOFT latex and it's freaking expensive (I think RM700 mcm tu) so it's out of the list ok.

As for us, we chose fibre+latex as it's a bit firm but not too tough and we thought it will be good for the backbone. I don't like the idea of my baby sunken in a fluffy mattress.

Then there is bumper pad, pillow, bolster, fitted sheets, etc, that you have to think about.

As for the cot itself, the one I'm talking about is made from Ramin solid wood with non-toxic painting and 2-level adjustment (can be a baby bed and playpen). The 4-in-1 one will be more expensive (need to add about 200 more I think). We were tempted to get the 4-in-1 previously as it can last until ur kid 5 years old, but in the end we see no point of having it. Oh ya, all the shops basically selling the same cot, from the same supplier (eg: Seni Daya). Only the price varies depending on what they throw in, in the package.

So generally, the price will be around RM800++, and RM600++ when on sales. You can survey on BabyJaya, BabyLand, Littlewhiz, BBstore, etc. Lebih kurang la..

Anyway, when we went to My Dear warehouse, we were so surprised to see baby cot there and it is exactly like the one we wanted being sold at RM270!!!

Ok, actually it was RM470 with everything!! Mattress, bumper pad, mosquito net, etc. Or you can buy asing-asing and it will be RM570 in total.

I was tempted to get everything with the price but the quality of the mattress and bumper pad is very bad, not even 100% cotton I think. So I rather buy the breakdown than spend extra RM100 on something that I don't need.

In the end, we get the cot (RM270) and the mattress, fibre+latex at only RM109!!! It's a crazy deal. I'll buy the fitted sheet later and for the pillow and bolster, my mom going to make it with cotton :D (thanks mommy!!!)

The cot also comes with teething rail which is very important as the one we saw in Ikea (very nice also, selling at RM399) has no teething rail, you have to buy separately.

The height of the front bumper can be adjusted so it will be easier for you to bend and pick your baby. Two of the castors provided with break.

Overall, it is a really good bargain for a decent baby cot, although I don't mind getting the 4K Da Vinci cot. Hahaha...

The Halloween Baskin

As usual Baskin&Robbins will have their 31st special where all the handpack icecream will get 31% discount. I've been meaning to get the discounted handpacks since years ago (talk about getting into sales hype hihihi) but the previous incident always turn me off.

However, last 31st Oct also marked as Halloween Day and I was soooo itchy to get the cute Halloween pen, so we joined the sales rush. We planned to go to Uptown BR at 10AM and that's too optimistic, knowing us yg selalu keluar rumah after 1PM on the weekend. And surprised or not, we managed to be there around 12PM, only to find the shop already swarmed with long queue. So we decided to have lunch somewhere else, go to My Dear warehouse sale and return back later of the evening. After the warehouse, we went back to Uptown and the line is still ridiculous! So we went back home relax-relax and decided to try the one in The Curve with a theory "mesti tak ramai orang sebab dekat mall, so takde orang tapau sangat"

Luckily the theory worked that day! There was only about 20-30 people and took us half an hour for the whole buying process. The most important thing is, not too stuffy and enough cold air for "hot mommy" like me! Hahaha... anyway believe me or not, you get heat tickle easier when you are preggy.

Chubby mommy

The choosen flavor that day. Choc chip, very berry strawberry, vanilla, and coconut. Ohh on the most right is the leftover from months ago, my all-time fav, old-fashioned butter pecan. It is 1 pint per flavour and we saved about RM30!!

This is the pen I'm talking about! COMELICIOUS kannnnnnnn! :P

Anyway if you buy above RM20 in single recipe you will get this pen for free. But the promotion is scrapped off if your icecream is on discount, so I have to top-up RM3.90 for this cutie-pie.

For now, I love the very berry strawberry the most. The strawberry pieces is really yummy!

So after this BR The Curve will be my ultimate place to get the handpack on every 31st. Moreeeeeeee flavour to comeeeeee :D
