Perfect livin 2013

We went to perfect livin' 2013 held at PWTC last Thursday. Gigih ambil cuti ok. Haha..little things that I treasure.

The main intention was to survey on the custom book-rack. We wanted to make a small library at the family hall since we don't want to give up any room for it. We already surveyed the stuff in IKEA for DIY,  but we still want to see how much it's going to cost us for a nice custom made. Apparently, it's going to cost us triple of IKEA's, so we decided scrape the customize book-rack idea :(

How I wish I can afford the customized library, it will be super nice *sobs*, but oh well, gotta suck it up and move on.

Anyway, book rack aside, there are soooooooo many nice thing at perfect livin and how I wish money grows on trees, so that I can just pluck them and buy the stuff lol. Oh life...

A few thing that caught my eyes:

A nice Gorenje fridge with this cute egg holder

Black granite sink. This is super super super want! Granite sink is the in-thing now. It's super smooth and antibac (nano process-no holes). I don't really care about the antibac features but seriously, the sink is so nice! This pic just doesn't do justice. You have to see and touch it by yourselves.

 Cute bathroom sink

With pretty embossed porcelain

Super cute bucket sink, super expensive too :(

Kids bedframe with slide!!!! I wannnnnnt it forrrr meeeeeee...er...for Zahra, so that I can share it with her haha kidding. Anyway, seriously, this is the nicest kids bed I've ever found. Very kiddy but simple and safe too. I don't know why I never stumble upon this product because there are very famous in www-land, and andes with online shopping is like BFF, so how come I never come across this? Haha..ok whatever, anyway, this is their website: www.tomatokidz.com. They made lots cute and fancy stuff and those stuff are exported to overseas. So u know what I mean right? It's a real deal.

Detailed tiles

Well, that's some of the awesome stuff I snap, after that I kinda forgot to take out my phone and snap some more..because I was too engrossed admiring things they are selling haha.

Anyway.......we bought a veryyyyyyyyy cute blind. Like cutey cute. I will snap it and post it here once it is installed. Bought an aircond for the hall and I can't believe this, I bought a steam iron!!! Not the normal one, but the standing tall like at the shops. Like wtf man! As if I own some sort of boutique.

Well, my main intention is to iron MrComot's shirt but apparently the steam iron works best for silk, dresses, polyester, material like that, but my husband's shirt is cotton, so it kinda hard to use it you know. I've spent litres of water just for 3 shirt? Gahhhhhhhhhhh. I think I've been conned haha. Well, will post the iron in the next entry.

A few random pictures:

\
Sungai Klang!
Do you know they have mini waterfall..hmm not really a waterfall but got big stones like in the big river. MrComot said it's man made to beautify the river.Well, it kinda pretty (that is why I snap this picture) but somehow all I can see from this picture is the teh tarik water hahaha.

Us at one of the hall. Compulsory pic lol

The goodie bag. Got STAR newspaper I think (didn't bother to flip in until now) and reusable water bottle.

Another interesting thing I found, gigantic posters plastered at the wall, at surau's area. Some sort of tazkirah, while you putting your shoes outside.

Lipat baju

Banyaknya baju yg kena lipat, and tgh sidai untuk dilipat. Rasa mcm nak nanges (haha drama sangat but that's how i feel). Kalau x lipat, x cukup pulak utk bawak ke babysitter.

Sobs..

The New No-Oily Kitchen

Finally, after a year of planning and revising our plan, the second kitchen is ready! We already have a well-planned kitchen installed in the house before we moved in, I would say a well-planned because of the material we chose, the color, the wiring done, the gadget we bought, etc. But one thing we overlook is the position of the kitchen.

MrComot made some renovation at the back of the house to be as laundry room and it works well, until we start cooking then we realized that the kitchen become stuffy and oily even if I just stir in some garlic for Zahra's porridge! This is because the kitchen has become the middle room, and we can't do any ducting to suck the smoke out, so to reduce the smell, we just use recycle technique for the hood (charcoal filter installed and it will suck in the oil and smoke, clean the air and will release it back into the room). Not a wise move. The salesman said charcoal filter will work as good as ducting, and that's a lie ok.

The current kitchen is something like this:

The green oil and smoke hehe

I'm not very fussy with the smoke and smell because well, first thing first, I rarely cook hehehe. But it bothers me when MrComot complained everytime I cook, "ala..lantai kita berminyak". So not encouraging ok! It's somehow annoying and potong stim. Well, he's not really complaining, it's just his feet is made for this thing..oil and dust collector hehe. He can feel even a slightest dust on the floor and me on the other hand..nahhh..as long as I don't fall, the floor is alright to me hehe.

And this seriously become a reason for me to feel a tug to cook in the kitchen. I don't have the heart to see he keep on wiping the floor even though I already clean it :( And not to mention all the curtain will have this funny smell too. Another factor is, I was thinking sampai bila tanak masak kan? Somehow I need to cook for my kids if not for us, and I want to cook nasi tomato with ayam merah! That will need a lot of frying gagaga.

The kitchen finally installed last two weeks.

The kitchen#2 in kitchen#1

Unpacking the boxes and assembling the cabinet

Mounting up

Guy stuff

They are moving a bit the washing machine. The wall without the kitchen.

And the after look ;)

We went totally opposite with the old kitchen this time. The main thing will be colors. Kitchen#1 is all white and shiny and kitchen#2 is very dark brown and matte. Other than that, we make it as minimum as possible so that we can lenjan the kitchen habis-habisan without feeling guilty hehe. The whole thing is using the cheapest material, pressed laminated wood for top and cabinets. The kitchen#1 is made of solid surface and shiny gloss door and look what happen now? Just a pretty face with not much servicing.

By the way, we moved the hood from kitchen#1 and do the ducting (the smoke will be sucked up and thrown outside through the tube). We bought new hob anyway because we can't simply reuse the hob#1, it will leave a hole on the solid surface there. So basically we have two stove now. Ok la..the other one can masak maggi, won't smell and produce smoke that much :)

The new kitchen made its first debut by frying nuggets and it works! No more oily floor and smoke at all!

BTW, we still have few other small thing to settle:

1) the wall is not tiled, so somehow it will stain later. We planned to DIY the tiles later, maybe this weekend
2) Need to buy the washing machine cover since they are in the same room.

Other than that, I need to rearrange all my plates and pots so that there are easily reached. Then I'm going to be the domestic goddess. OK, where is my apron?

Laying Tiles

Renovation day 6

They finished hacking the old cement and some tiles, now laying the new one. We were on leave today as the wireman need to be inside the house to tap the power for the electric gate.

When the tiles came, I was like, 'how come masa kat kedai nampak lain? I imagined it will be something more grey and darker'.

MrComot: A'ah la..me pun imagine mcm sayang. That's why we need ID. Kita x biasa so x boleh imagine. Macam paint, kat katalog nampak lain but when on bigger wall lain.

Haha..since we can't afford any ID now, hopefully the paint will turn out nice. The tiles pun okay lah..but it's more pretty in my head! :p

Renovation

Thing has been pretty hectic lately, since we started our house renovation. Nothing big, just to extend the end roof and lay tiles for the porch.

But never underestimate simple job. It still needs a lot of resources from us. We had to decide what we want to do, tiles shopping (which took us almost 2 hours last weekend), plan the design, choose the paint, choose the gate design, etc etc.. sigh.

We are indecisive people. We can't even decide whether we want gutter for our roof or not. Well, if money is not a concern, of course everything is easy like a snap, OK I want all of that haha. But since every little thing is under the budget, we have to think, do we really need a gutter? Or not really..just some extra thing which will consume big sum of money. But it will be nice to have, ain't it? Sigh...

Renovation day 3 - extending the roof

And not to mention we have to choose the paint. So hard to decide! We love this color and afraid it will look weird with the roof and the porch, and this color is too brown la, etc etc. Spoiled by choices! And the gate also! We had to scout the neighbourhood for few times to look out for ideas as both of us hate the design in the catalog can? Hmm...

And also the dust! We reached home around 7PM yesterday welcomed with a pile of dust, not only outside of the house, but it's spreading into the whole hall and dining area even though door is closed. It's due to the porch hacking and electric wiring for the gate. I hope this will end asap. Tak larat nak mengemop.

The Black Plate

This is our dinner tonight, whipped by MrComot (thank you sayang!) but it's not about that. After all asyik2 menu sama je, salmon, rosemary chicken, salmon, rosemary chicken, salmon, repeat haha.

It's about the plate!

This is our first time using it, bought from Langkawi and it's pretty deep shiny ebony black. The color is not that nice in this pic as I took it using my phone, but yeah.. It's beautiful black plate!

It's arcopal, lighter than normal porcelain but slightly heavier than corelle. What I love most about it, is the simple sleek design. Plain and curvy square. It's sexy to me. And black making it sexier hehe.

We bought the whole set, including bowls.

I was imagining to host a halloween themed dinner for close friends with this set when I decided to buy it. But that's different story, being the suka-berangan-me haha..

The First Bloom

My MIL gave me a big pot of plant that I don't know what type is it and always forgot to ask. I thought it is curry leaves so I just water it like usual and don't expect anything else to come out until yesterday morning, it caught my attention.

It's a flower plant!

A blue-purplish flower

And this morning more buds blossoming that the whole pot is covered by this delicate petals. Still I don't what's the name. Gotta ask my MIL tonite.

My house messed like shit

I was busy doing some ironing last night at the living hall and when I was standing while holding my piles of ironed shirt, which gives me bird's view on my house, I was gawking and said "OMG my house mess like shit"

Like seriously.

It's never been this messy before. Or maybe it has but it didn't tug my heart this much heeeee.. Anyway, I quickly snap a pic using my phone because I find it amusing (and because I am weird like that) and immediately open my laptop to upload this pic, boleh? Bukannya nak kemas rumah.

Both are the same pic only the later one is tagged. Click!

Yes, the pic is uploaded last night but I was too sleepy after that and can't write anything about it and when straight to the bed. It's not only living hall like this..the mess is everywhere, only the kitchen is super clean because I lay no hands there ha ha ha.

Anyway yes, it's pretty much the same this morning. Stuffs still here and there, only empty vitagen bottle and used tissue paper weren't there. Manage to throw them into dustbin ha ha ha.

How I wish we have 3-days weekend...or more!

Day1-outing to malls
Day2-clean house and prepare grand dinner like lemon rosemary chicken
Day3-cuddle all day!
Day4-visit family
Day5-baking some stuff for colleague
Day6-work
Day7-work

Repeat.

2 days is definitely not enough.

Cool Nights

You know how hot it has been this few days and my confinement room has turned into a giant oven. I was sticky most of the nights but held my breath from whining, but when Zahra also getting sticky (she still sleeping like normal in the stickiness) I was like 'kesiaaaaaaaaaanyaaa my baby' and that's it, we finally installed the aircond, phewww~

Facts of the day: Penang managed to sell 1000 airconds in a day! But I forgot what day was that, I think after CNY holiday.

P/S: If you own an aircond shop, giving discounts now is a smart moves.

Even though we sleep with aircond now, I still find it's quite hot (only not sticky) because I don't know how cold an infant can take. So all of the time it will be 29-30 celcius only! So mommy dia still mcm cacing kepanasan, no stocking for me please! MrComot on the other hand, who can't stand heat is fine with it. Pelik pelik..

Above is Zahra yawning, wishing u guys happy extra weekend for this Maulud Nabi, and an extra sleep will be nice! Mwahhhhhhh

The Makeover

Our house is empty (except kitchen and master bedroom) since 11 months ago. Empty as in ZERO ok. We only have a pair of rattan chair given by MrComot's parent. Hehe we couldn't care less by the way. Because we rarely (almost none) been downstairs and if somebody comes, we just open the tikar plastik (so classic ok) for them to sit.

After so long, finally we bought the sofa and dining set for the house. First because it's raya of course, kalau tak, tak beli lagi la. I mean, sampai bila nak suruh orang duduk kat lantai kan? Second, I think it's about time pun. After the baby pop-out, we won't have time to think about furniture anymore. So many things to buy and settle for the little one. So better buy now.

See how kosong our house is:

Half of the hall

Another half.

Oh ya, both of us so fussy when it comes to buy things (I find it's charming though, at least we are sharing the same thinking) Even the curtain pun we were hesitated to buy it. Luckily the akad nikah was done in this house, so by hook or crook we have to settle for the curtain. MrComot picked the colour and material all by himself as I wasn't in town that time. If there is no akad nikah in here, we planned to stick the windows with kertas kajang okkk! Until we found curtain we wanted. Ish ish ish...

Anyway now it fills with sofa, dining set, sideboard table, coffee table and even carpet! Hahaha our house looks totally different. Like a proper family house.

And MrComot is over okkk. Everytime he goes downstairs, he will scream calling me

MrComot: Sayangggggg!!!! *gasping tone*
Me: What is it??
MrComot: Rumah sapa ni??? Me ingat kita salah rumah!!

Kannnnnnnnnnnnn. Boleh tak?

Anyway there is no accessory yet. I plan to do my own painting (yakin boleh sangat). Will use water color and acrylic. Will see how my rustic form 3 skill will be :P Hopefully won't be another angan-angan mat jenin hehehe.

The Blue Room

Our last two weekends filled with painting. I like white room actually, but the guest room was not in good condition. The roof is leaking (the zinc dividing us and neighbour ran out the shape and causing the water to drip in) and is eating the 2nd guestroom. We weren't in rush to fix it but my parents is coming up on the next weekend (which is last Saturday) so we have to fix it, by hook or crook.

It's not that my parents care about the roof pun, as long as hujan tak jatuh atas derang time tido kan, but malu lahhhhhh... The leakage isn't new, dah berbulan-bulan okkk. The thing is, we are waiting for our favourite house-repair man to come, Ah Kam. Because he is neat and CHEAP. Itu yang penting. But kalau cheap service ni, banyak problem lain la pulak kan. He's so busy and keep on giving false hope with this line "I'll come next week". Next weeeekkkk laaaa. Berapa banyak next week dah dia janji, tapi tak muncul-muncul ok.

So that's it, we decided to call up some random numbers we got from roof repair pamphlets. We called 2 guys and ask for the price first. They came and check the roof and gave us ridiculous quotation!

The first guy said "It's RM1000, after discount RM900". MrComot said, OK I don't want, it's too expensive.

The second guy said "It's RM1800, after discount RM1700". MrComot said, I don't want, too expensive.

MOTIFFF RIBU-RIBU? Seriously we were like, what? Mahal sgt ke repair roof ni. But we knowwww mesti boleh dpt murah punya. So we decided to wait for Ah Kam. Tiba-tiba the 1.8K guy called up and said can give cheaper. MrComot said don't want, he doesn't have money and he's only willing to pay 500. Guess what? He said, OK I can do 500. Kannnnnnnnnnnnn. Motiff sangat ok. How come u can reduce from 1.8K to 500?

Menyesal tak sebut 300 ok. Hiks.

Since Ah Kam still not available, we decided to pull in the guy and settled for 500. I thinks it's not cheap and not expensive either. But I know his cost is less than 100. Whatever lah. Dah sebut kan, janji settle.

The leaked roof. Quite bad kan?

MrComot decided to paint the room. I was reluctant at first. I mean, the original color is still ok, only comot at the top la (malas actually) and the most important thing is, I can't join the excitement! I love love love painting tapi tak berani lah with my current condition. Takut kalau penat lebih-lebih will cause miscarriage kan. Since he insisted, I have to let him have all the fun by himself.

We chose blue based color. It's a warm pastel blue from Nippon (#blue breeze).

MrComot in action.

And the outcome. Not bad eh? We use white paint for the ceiling.

Actually I imagined the blue will be paler/lighter. It's a bit too thick for me. But ok lah...dah cat pun. The current curtain is in gold, it's an eyesore. Need to change the curtain pulak.

Oh ya, MrComot took 2 days and 3 extra night (after balik keja) to finish a whole room. Pretty tiring. If you can find a good painter at reasonable price, upah je la. Butttt, we had bad experience with Bangla painter (no offense), it's cheap, about RM100 per long wall, but but but the outcome sangat lah sakit hati ok. We asked him to paint the feature wall in red and comot ok. There is splash kiri kanan dekat wall yg color putih. And then keep on blaming the paint is no good one. Heloooooooo...we use the same paint to paint our master bedroom okkkkk je. And he finished the whole 5 litre paint for ONE wall only whilst we use the 5 litre for a whole room, siap ada balance lagi. So how?

If you have time, just do it yourself. Satisfaction is the key to happiness :)

Mexican wave to streamyx~~~

Helooooooo world!!!

Now I'm officially online from my crib!!! Finally after months battling with TM (FOUR freaking months to be exact) we get our streamyx *tadah tangan kat langit, syukur alhamdulillah*. Of course on best case scenario you can get connected within 3 days after submission, but our case is because they just ran out the port, boleh?

I mean, come onnnnnnnn laaaaaaaaa. This is new area with massive houses, of course la you can expect a lot of people want streamyx kan? Why don't you patch the extra port siap-siap kan? Ish ish ish... But I am not in the position to complain now because I'm using the connection with hassle-free hihihi

We can already connect to the streamyx since last week but since we only have one CAT5, I feel it is uncool to use something wired and have to berebut the usage with MrComot some more. So now, both of us can online with our own laptop anywhere we want.

We just bought the wireless router from Lowyat this evening and it's the cheapest, costing us RM117, and it can do wireless bridging!!!

The white Buffalo WHR-G125

Seriously this is a steal, first as I said before it can do wireless bridging/WDS which other wireless router in that range of price can't do. Good for future investment, where maybe you want to extend the coverage to your neighbour and charge them (ok, don't follow this). It also has AOSS where you can get connected without have to setup anything in the PC/laptop, all you have to do is install the software one time only, compatible with XBOX and Nintendo DS, etc.

It also comes with firewall/IDS which I think other wireless routers also have but the logging is pretty comprehensive. It will tell you details of attempt like the MAC address, time, discarded sessions etc etc. Then it can do simple load balancing where it can connects to 5 lines of connection at a time. So laptop A can use streamyx 1 and laptob B can use streamyx 2 and so on which will suit somebody who wants to bolot all the bandwidth to himself. But, it won't do any good pun sbb we only use one line of streamyx kan? It's just the capabilities amuse me hehehe.

However this is only G-generation as I don't think we need N-generation (my laptop is a very ooooold lady, so she won't be able to use N type) so G is enough. And that saves up some money too (Most N-generation router is quite pricey, around RM260 the cheapest, Aztech brand)

Ok ok tooo much nerd info here. I think I'm gonna sleep now. MrComot already bising that I'm hooked with the laptop hahahaha. So hear me now my hubby, I've got a new boyfriend!!
Mexican wave again~~~~~~

This is how I online now, on the bed with MrWeebek and connected without the wire!! Sila abaikan kaki MrComot tu.

So I might be updating regularly, but still depending on my mood hehehe.

Ok hunnies, let's go to sleep yaaaaaa. Mwahhhhh nite nite nite schlopp schloppp schlopppppppp

Table For Two

We are now officially have dining table!!!

After two months (getting to three hehe) eating on floor in front of TV, finally, we get ourselves a simple table for two!

Since there is only two of us, we plan to get a proper dining table (that can comfortably set for 6 person) later. Later as in wayyy LATER. Maybe 3 years in coming? It's because we don't have the luxury to keep a space for a dining table, just for the sake of having dining table. We already looking for some tables but none of them catch our heart. And we don't really need the table now as we don't have kids and I can't really see myself hosting a family dinner. Even if there is any dinners (or guests), dinner on floor it will be :P

So we settled for something very simple and basic specially for two of us and we call it collapsable table :D

It's from Ikea *again, no other easy place for us to find simple furniture ;(* and one thing I like about Ikea is they make the self-assembly, possible. The pre-drilled holes, the way you have to build it is easy peasy.

Screws and all

Drill the hole
MrComot said the concrete very tough and hurt his hand. Time like this, I thank God I am not a man hahaha

Attach it

Helo word!!

During the collapse mode ;P

It's very space savvy, as we just swing it up when we want to use it and fold it back to keep the space wider.

I also can use it as a place to prepare meals or all. Haha, ya lah tu. I think we will use this only for breakfast, and occasionally dinner. But this will be enough for now. Finally we have a proper seated place to eat.

And it gives a romantic illusion as it only fit for two person. I already picture (picture only ok haha) to cook something special for new year, maybe chicken cordon bleu with roast potatoes, setted beatifully on that table with few stalks of roses and floating candle.

What do you think?

Oh ya, dreaming is allowed in this blog. Buat tak buat belakang kira kan? Whatever it is, I think it is so romaaaaaannntic!

Our Weekend Project

Guess what we did last weekend?

Shoerack!!!

Ok ok, not literally lah. We just assemble the shoe rack :P

The thing with shoerack is, both of us are busy. Our schedule will be like, morning going to work, arrive home earliest by 8pm. Most of the time will be around 10 or 11, depending on where we had our dinner. So we barely have time for our house. The cleaning process will only happen during the weekend which will include vacuuming and laundriette.

Talking about laundry, we do our laundry once a week, so can you imagine how heavy the load will be? And thank God for giving us bright sun every weekend, else, the baju will be very-very masam :P

Back to the topic, so my point is, we don't have time to do extra thing. Nak tengok wayang pun tak sempat okkk. So tgk tv je in the room. But I think it's better kut, as long as ada quality time together I don't mind not going out.

Back to the topic (again!)

Since we don't have proper shoerack, we just drop our shoes behind the door and it has been quite a mess. We've been surveying lots shoerack in market but unfortunately, all of them can't fit nicely in our petite storeroom. Most of them are around 30" width and the shortest will be around 24" but our storeroom width is about 22" only. So how to fit in?

At first we plan to buy thin plywood and cut and mount and paint ourselves but I *feel* it's a bit too ambitious, provided the time constraint. In the end, we settled for the cheapest shoerack available and cut it to the right size. It's more manageable I guess hehe

MrComot cutting the cheap wood

We get the shoerack from IKEA. I planned to paint it with colorful woodpaint but as I said before, being idealist it not the best practice for this time being so I just let it stay as in original - plain untreated wood.

Since it's cheap, the stack is not really stable, MrComot had to stick it with UHU glue and let it dries under the hot sun.

The whole stack

This is how our shoes rest before. A very pretty sight eh? :P

And after! Yeay!

That will be our regular shoes. Since we don't have many shoes, this rack will be enough for now. Hope it will stay neat like this for a long long longggg time.

Knowing myself, I wonder how it will turn out next week? Maybe the shoes will be back behind the door as it will be easier and faster for me to access hehehe

Toothy Teethy

Among the first thing we bought once we live together is, toothbrush holder!!!

Beras pun belum beli ok, sibuk beli menda lain hahaha.

Anyway, we were so excited to get this toothbrush holder and spent hoursss (sampai I bad mood ok) to find the right one.

Honestly, it's not that right as I've seen one in bright orange rubber ducky and want it soooo baaaddd but unfortunately I couldn't remember where I saw that ;(

We went to Parkson, Jusco, Living Quarters, Metrojaya, etc etc and still failed to find the ducky, so we settled for this one, from Living Quarters. Anyway, Jusco pun got the very same, penat je cari sana-sini tsk tsk.

So introducing to the world, Tiger and Girrafe!!! (no name for them yet, any idea?)

Guess which one is mine? :P

It is an automatic open and close holder. Oh ya, I have my very own reason ok why I use kiddies toothbrush. It is my travel toothbrush. During the pindah-pindah I coudn't find my normal brush, so I subs to it for a while :D

The whole view of the holder
Both animals hanging calling for help hahaha

Another side of the table top

Mind the messiness. We still don't buy appropriate storage for the soap, shaver, tootpaste, facial wash, etc etc.

Anyway, notice the big end-to-end mirror? It is given by the in-laws. Nice is it? I like it soooo muchhh. Feels like in hotel bathroom wannabe hehe.
