Date in KLCC

Another date with my hubby!

Life has been hectic and we only went out few times this year, even though we made a pact that we will try to date once a month. It's hard, with kids, and workload.. so this is our 3rd or 4th date in this year. Anyway it was last month (14/11) and both of us manage to take one day leave and left the kids at babysitter like usual. Since the time is limited, we decided to stroll randomly in KLCC, and no movie.

We dropped the kids quite late, around 11am and had lunch Asam Pedas Setiawangsa. This place used to by my favourite restaurant when I stayed in that area and I'll order asam pedas daging tetel and telur dadar nyonya, all the time. Telur dadar nyonya is an omelette with cencalok (fermented shrimp) and cili padi (the small extremely hot bird's eye chilli). However, the food that day wasn't that satisfying. Maybe they change the cook or it was just me, maybe my tastebud has changed through out the years.

My favourite convo. The sambal udang petai MANIS boleh? Potong betul.

We saw this 1 Malaysia Coop and entered it. That was my first time seeing one, the price is not bad even though they lack with varieties. Good enough for low-income worker. This place used to be KRU office with bright orange color. They moved to Cyberjaya I heard, bigger office.

Saw this while looking for parking in KLCC - an EV parking! My first time nampak, gigih suruh MrComot slow down to snap this pic. It's for electronic car to park and charge their vehicle, not that I can spot one. I also don't know how an ev car looks like haha.

Petronas pump advertisement, it is a pin up sticker at the wall but look so real!

We were wandering around, don't know where to go because both of us are not a shopper. Ok, I love to shop, but I love food more. And I don't know what to buy anymore, not that I have everything, it's just not my main interest. So do you know where we spent the whole day in KLCC?

ISETAN food market!!!

We stroll there for hours, admiring all the food and fiddling our fingers on the spices rack. Hahaha.

Both of us light up the moment we saw this entrance. It's somewhere next to Uniqlo. This is our first time in ISETAN food market. It is new I think because last time I went to KLCC macam takde je, but that was few years back.

They have Japanese and Korean food section, more like a small food court for each section.

Arrays of fresh sushi. The salmon cut look so yummmmmmmyyy!! I don't eat raw salmon anyway.

The Japanese stuff. I bought the soft shell crab and small crab. The soft shell crab is soooo creamy!!! I've had a few from other place tapi most of them are dry and a bit bland but here is so delicious. Maybe they got a good batch of the crab.

Couldn't help not to pose under the signage - I *heart* food :)

The small crab in my palm. It's deep fried and so crunchy that we can eat the whole thing as it is. Anyway, it's not as creamy as the soft shell crab. All I taste is a salty crunchy crab.

But highlight of the day will be this!!
WASHI TAPE!

I've been searching high and low for washi tape (it's patterned paper/masking tape) and currently a craze in craft world. It's quite expensive if I bought online because of the international shipping, as I couldn't find it in local online shop. I searched for it in DAISO but to non-avail and found this in ISETAN stationary corner. The choices is very limited but I am happy with the price tag :)

We went back around 530PM to pick up the kids and that's our date, food market and washi tape! Hahaha... I wish we can go somewhere else different, like a park, or exhibition, or whatever, except mall. I'm kinda tired of mall already. But half a day definitely not enough if we want to chill in hotel or resorts.

Anyway, wherever it is, is fine as long as I'm with my man :)

Fizzling Sand

I made this simple activity with Zahra Elena last weekend and it catches her interest. One, because she get to control everything, it's simple so she can play all by herself, second, because it fizzles!

I call it fizzling sand. All you need are

*all images are from google

White vinegar, I used the cheapest one (Giant brand) since it is purely for play
Bicarbonate of Soda
Food coloring

Mix the food coloring with the vinegar
Dump all the soda bicarbonate into a plate/tupperware
Let your kid pour the vinegar mix onto the soda bicarbonate and watch it fizzles. You can also use droplets for easier handling but we just have spoon and it's fine.

The moment the vinegar touch the soda bicarbonate, it fizzles. This keep her entertained for quite sometimes. In fact, until all the soda bicarbonate is finished (covered with the vinegar) and she cries for more! I had to calm her down and promised her that I will go buy the soda bicarbonate more later.

When the soda bicarbonate don't produce the fizzle sound anymore, don't waste it, scoop whatever you have and dump it in the vinegar mix. The chemical reaction still happen even for small residue. Zahra said "Mommyyyy ada bubblessss!".

The cleaning part also very hassle-free, it's easy to wash off and no-stain left. My only recommendation is to put some newspaper underneath the whole thing so kalau tumpah, takde la kena meja kan and for you kid to wear darker shirt as she might stain her shirt with the vinegar mix. Zahra wore white shirt and she splashed some colors, but it came off after I wash it in normal laundry.

And it will be better if you can use a lot of soda bicarbonate, so macam puas sikit dia main. I just used 1 small bottle and it runs out pretty fast. Will do this again in the future with bigger batch.

Happy weekend, and happy playing! :)

Big Bad Wolf 2012

Ok, about the current hip in town, Big Bad Wolf!! *This entry was in the draft for 2 weeks - phew*

As I mentioned before, this year is my 3rd year in a row visiting my 'wolf'..but when I checked back, opsss, not! I didn't go last year because I just gave birth to Emir.

My first time was in 2009 - I was carrying Zahra. Read here.
My second time was in 2010 - I went with Fiena and brought Zahra along. Read here.

Each event has its own flair and they do it at different place. But one thing for sure, it's getting bigger and bigger! This year they announced that they have 3 millions books! Can you believe it? The first year I went, they open it at Armcorp mall, then at South City Mall, and this year, they has to rent Mines Convention Centre.

MrComot didn't offer himself to go this year, in another word, he is not interested in accompanying me hahaha. So I have to catch any of my girlfriends who share the same interest. The event started from 7th Dec until 20th Dec but they made a stunt with 63 hours straight service (7-9th) and it pokes the right nerve, I want to go!! Luckily, Bee wanted to go too and yeah, the rest is the history.

MrComot gave the green light for me to enjoy my me-time, without the kids and at the very ODD hours! We went there on the first day they start the 63-hours challenge, on Friday around 11PM until 230AM in the morning! This is the first time MrComot has to stay with the kids alone and he is such a darling, for letting me doing crazy thing like this, book shopping at midnight hahaha.

But what life without drama right? Handsome boy poo right before I step my foot outside the house, so I have to rush in and wash him up..then suddenly Zahra want to follow me. I told her I am out for work and she said "nak ikut mommy pegi work" with sad voice. Oh noooooo...I am this close to bring her too but that will be quite irrational right, so I just said "sorry Zahra, mommy can't, nanti mommy balik ok?" and quickly leave her to MrComot.

I don't know how MrComot put them to sleep, because Emir never sleep without me (he need his 'candu') and Zahra won't sleep if Emir didn't sleep yet. One thing for sure, my hubby managed to do it, but the next morning I saw a cut on Emir's forehead and when I asked, he said he doesn't know! Hahaha. Ok that explains, maybe Emir bang himself somewhere, got the cut and cry and then sleep alone! LOL.

Ok, back to the BBW. The traffic was craaaaaaaazzzzyyyy! It supposed to be quieter because it's midnight, but I think everybody has the same excitement, and furthermore it's weekend the next day. So apa lagi, lepak kedai buku is the IN thing haha. We parked at Mines shopping complex and have to walk a bit to the convention centre.

Cars are queuing to enter the carpark at MIECC. We parked right before it.

 The lambo

 World's biggest book sale!!

 On my right

 On my left

It's a verrrryyyyyy big area 2 tingkat lagi! The upper level is playground and food court for your spouse and kids to wait for you I guess, because 1 hour definitely not enough! There are piles of books and I have instant dizziness the moment I enter the hall hahaha. I don't where to start because books are everywhere. They divide the hall into few sections like Art&Craft, Hobbies, Fictions, Young Adult, Kids, Cookery, etc etc. They also has this small corner for Malay novel! Ok, this is new I think..last two times I went, no a sight for Malay novels.

Obviously I ran to art&craft and kids book and both section took me almost 3 hours! I flipped some at cookery section and they have arrays of Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver at a very yummy price - RM20 to RM30!! Hard cover and thick book, crisp printing with beautiful colors. Sesuai buat collection. I was tempting to haul all, but the the rational me came and said, you won't read it and you need the money for kids books..hahaha. So yeah, I didn't buy.

And this is what I bought instead, 32 books.

All for Zahra and only 3 for me, if you can spot it (hint: it's at the left corner).

Most of the books are for Zahra. Maybe she won't read it now but all is hardcover and can last long, so it is worth as a treasure. My most favourite one will be as below, "does a zebra fly?".

Cute isn't it? That's only part of it. The last page will be 'does a zebra fly?'. You want to know? Go grab it yourself ha ha ha. Ok it's not funny, but yeah, the kids section is pretty fun. So, go check it out ;)

I didn't browse the fiction at all (used to be my favourite) because I don't feel like reading books nowadays. It's more fun to run my fingers on the phone for Pinterest LOL.

The queue when after we paid and about to leave. It's already 2.30AM and still ridiculously long!

We rushed out because all of us are so hungry and sleepy! But we didn't stop anywhere to eat, and all I want to do is go back and check the kids out.

The next day I woke up around 10AM and still feel sleepy and very drowsy. I guess I am too old for late night out ha ha ha.

The event is still on until 20th December and they keep on top-up the books. So the tittle will be vary each time. Wish I can go there every week to check it out. Everyday will be nice too, but that will be too delusional hahaha. ***Gosh, while I typing this I just notice that today is already 19th!! It's gotta end soon!***

Anyway, thanks to my friend Bee! She pick me up and drove me back and she's the reason MrComot allow me to go to BBW at very odd hour!

***********EDITED**************

BBW just made another announcement. They are extending the sale with 60-hours craziness!

Like their FB to know all the latest info :)

Warming up...

I miss my blog soooooooooo much!! And my readers! *SLOPPY KISSESS TO YOU*. Ok, even if nobody reading my blog, but I miss you!

So many thing happen in these few weeks and how I wish I write those event earlier so I don't have this feeling "nak tulis, tapi dah lepas so macam malas but it too good to pass". Ok, I am indecisive like that. Always.

Anyway, just to warm up this blog and writing spirit before I continue my usual babbling, a recap on few things in my life. I've shared about it in my facebook so a few of you might know already about this.

Sewn a mermaid tail for Zahra. I did a lot of sewing lately. Well, not that a lot, but it's quite a sum for a start hehe. Suddenly the sewing spirit come give me a visit :)

 Zahra with her princess sunglassess.

Went to big bad wolf. This is my 3rd year in a row going there and I'm lovin it to bits!

Made a no-sew tutu for Zahra and she's in love with it.

My most fav pic of all. Zahra sharing her corn with Emir.

I'm giving myself an instruction to write all the events. Well, it's gonna be my resolution for this time being. Ok, gotta pick my kids from the babysitter, see you soon!
