Shop Tesco Online!

I am very busy since early of the year, that to a point, I feel like having a maid. Seriously..we were so tied up during weekdays and the house is like a mess. I have this regular weekend maid but apa lah dia boleh buat sangat kan. Vacuum mop cuci toilet done..but I still need to iron and fold cloth. And they are piling like mountain! MrComot does help but 2 days weekend is filled with house chores and I'm tired of it. I want to lie back and chill with them, not kemas rumah tak habis2.

Not to mention that we have to go to Giant/market every Saturday since we have nothing in the fridge (because we still have dinner at MIL's) so there goes my Saturday, lunch outside and buy groceries. Then Sunday baru masak. I am so tired of outside food. Too much sodium and expensive! We ate too much outside food sampai rasa boring dah. Furthermore it's challenging for us to eat outside nowadays, with the 2 gremlins. Zahra is fine, all princessy and behave well, the real challenge is Emir! He refused to sit still and we have to eat in rush and chaos. In other word, all we need is simple home cooked food, eaten peacefully in the house haha.

So I was very ecstatic when Tesco sent me an email that the provide online shopping now, where you can just click click click, send it to your door step at any slot of your choice. I went OHHH EMMM GEEE. Bestnya! Before this I already found few small shops that provide this kind of service like Presto, but tak confident sangat time tu. And when Tesco, macam confident sikit, and best sebab banyak barang. Basically you can buy almost anything, just like when you are they physically.

One of my fear is that they will pick bad stuff, like not very fresh chicken, near to expiry date stuff, etc. But they proved it wrong! I received all my stuff in excellent condition, in fact better than when I shopped in Tesco itself, maybe because I chose 10AM delivery time, so barang still baru-baru. I purposely chose some chicken parts and they are freshly cut!

The thing is, I can save up so much time that I managed to cook lunch and dinner both Saturday and Sunday and with different menu! Lunch lain, dinner lain. Kelas okkk. I feel so much happier and satisfied!

I paid the same price as on the shelf, just add RM10 for the delivery charges tak kira u beli banyak mana pun. It's so worth it. All the stuff is transferred with a temperature controlled lorry and this is super awesome! Kalau I pegi beli sendiri pun tak bawak the cooler bag ok. The thing is, you also get the same discount if they are having one. It will shows in your 'virtual shelf'.

They used GPS so takde masalah nak call-call tak jumpa rumah and I booked for 10AM slot, they reached around 10.15AM, not bad! The payment is via card and at your house, they will bring the card machine.

Wanted to snap the delivery guy picture but Emir sibuk menangis la pulak.

So anyway, these what I cooked last week since I had extra time. Both lunch and dinner! This is one of the historical event ok! Normally we just cook lunch and eat out for dinner, or tapau food for lunch and masak dinner, something like that. Oh my kitchen, I miss you so much! LOL

Our lunch - chicken Curry with sayur bayam and salted tenggiri and bawang potong + cili padi + asam limau. Nyum! Recipe was based on the back of the curry packet and it is my first chicken curry! After 5 4 years of marriage haha. Nasib baik menjadi, Alhamdulillah..

For dinner, pan grilled salmon with cheesy mashed potato. Initially, I wanted to make roast potatoes but both of us forgot the potatoes broiling on the stove and when I tend the kitchen, it's already mushy soft, so I mash it instead, with some Parmesan and dried parsley.

Mushroom + beef bacon bits pasta, with pan-grilled rosemary chicken fillet.

Had bread with leftover chicken curry for dinner. Burpppp! It took some effort for me to prepare this while tending the kids but it makes me realize how much I enjoyed simple home meal like this. It's so worth it!

Anyway, of course it won't match the real experience shopping groceries at Tesco itself, but due time constraint, this is really a welcomed helping hand and much appreciated and I am 100% satisfied customer. Go check it out at www.tesco.com.my, there is a shopping online banner by the right side.

Ohhh how I wish everything can crawl to my doorstep! Hahaha.

Happy online shopping everyone!

Orla Kiely Scarves

I went to MidValley last week and wandering around browsing any shops when I decided to enter Uniqlo. It was my first time inside there, MPH used to be at the spot and with nothing particular in my mind, my eyes scanning randomly in the shop and that's when I saw this!

The famous Orla stem design

The first time I saw it, I was, hmmmm this look so familiar. I am craft junky and been reading lotsa craft and sewing blogs and I remembered seeing this particular design in ikatbaghttp://www.ikatbag.com/2012/08/stem.html

Then I browse each scarves and almost jump with joy, yes! It is Orla carves! The thing is, I never knew Orla made scarves? Because her design is more for furniture and home decor fabric (and now I'm googling it, yes Orla does make scarves and it is sold at &150 and that will be almost RM500!) And how come Uniqlo is selling this?

I feel like grabbing all the yummy colors but keep my sanity intact and grab two pieces that suit me best.

This one does looks like upholstery fabric right? But it looks better when you don it as tudung, because the prints turn out cuter when overlapped.

Icy grey stem

Anyway, they have mirrors all around in the shop, so you can try the scarves and see which one looks good on you. The cashier was very friendly too and told me that the scarves are sold on the fastlane and I asked stupid question "is this real Orla or imitation?" Haha I know..noob right? Then he told me that IT IS from the famous Orla design, Uniqlo paid some money for the copyright and turn them into these scarves and sold it for a fraction of price. They also got it for some tops and cardigans. Darn! I don't have much time so I give it a pass. Else, I'll ask him to stop scanning and run to the back to look at the cardigans haha.

Since I can't get my hands on the jackets and home decor fabric, this will be enough for now. Ohhh my Orla Kiely scarves!

It's sold at RM39.90 per piece, go grab it if you love the prints!

I was checking my mails this morning when I saw this in my inbox.

More stuff to redeem here

I was like, O-M-G!!! Menyampah nyaaaaaa! Kenapa la tak offer time I nak beli wawawa. If you still remember, this is the exact gadget I bought for Zahra's food! Anyway if you are thinking to get it, this is the best time! Other brand pun more or less around that price, before discount. If you don't have the bonuslink card, you can use mine! Since I'm not going to redeem anything.. Haha mood sangat baik today. But only one redemption is allowed. So it will be the fastest first ;)

Giant Baby Needs Sale

Everybody is talking about this Giant baby needs sale and coincidently we are short in diaper so we quickly give a check today and surprisingly it's really cheap. We are still using MamyPoko for Zahra and stocked up a whole bunch for her.

The cheapest I've ever found for M66 is RM43.90 in Carrefour, that's about 66sen each but the price is quite hard to get. Normal price will be RM55.

The current promotion Giant selling is at RM29.90 for M44 and that's about 68sen each (still one ringgit more than the jumbo pack if x 66pieces) but it's still a good deal to me as I don't know when we are going to get this price again (not to mention we have to check time to time at carrefour, tesco, giant, jusco, etc for the 43.90 deal) so we just grabbed the max we can.

By the way, the t&c is one person can buy 3 pack max, so here we are, 6 packs on total.

Not only MamyPoko there, also got Drypers, Huggies and Petpet (this one not so sure because I didn't see any but according to my friend, ada). This sale is from 25th - 27th June 2010. The milk and baby toiletries is also on sale. And you'll get free gifts on top of every RM80 purchase from baby department! Err..I think, or maybe for total purchase from Giant. I'm not sure, sorry!

Ehh..come to think it's quite expensive using disposable diaper. Maybe I should start to consider using cloth diaper now..hmmm...

Anyway, happy weekends and enjoy shopping!

Big Bad Wolf Day

For books lover (or sales lover hehe) you must be aware about the most awaiting sale for this year in book category - Big Bad Wolf. I never go to any BBW sale so I don't know how good it is, but according to the shopping&sales site, it's freaking cheap and people is bringing back boxes of book on the first day of the sale. BOXES ok! So dengan perut besarnya, gigih ni pegi checkout the sale last Friday right after hari raya visits, at Amcorp Mall.

I was expecting less people will be there since it is Aidiladha but I was totally wrong! They don't care about raya ok! Massive cars parked at the roadside and outside parking space, luckily MrComot is a true PJ-rian lalalala. Armcorp mall ada basement parking ok and there is a lot of vacancy, so we parked inside with no sweat dropped ha-ha-ha!

The queue at 3PM! I had to be behind that uncle sobs sobs

Another view of the line

Look at the ocean of people. Luckily it is well-air conditioned, so I still can stand the crowd.

Me with the BAD wolf haha, holding my mudpie flurry (ughh why I like sweet thing so much? Must be the baby). Oh ya, no food or drinks allowed, so pls make sure ur finish whatever u have in hands ok.

There were rowssssss of books, piled on long tables, separated by genre - hobbies, fiction, non-fiction, magazines, children, fantasy, etc. We walked table to table, not missing any genre, browsing and admiring the price! Seriously it's freaking cheap.

The craft book priced at RM10 and the novels (fiction) all flat RM8! Unfortunately, I didn't find any writer that I KNOW, ok my choices of reading is not that wide, but I didn't dare to simply buy the books even though it's so cheap because I was afraid I won't like the books. I was hoping to stumble upon names that I recognize like Khaleed Hosseini, Jodi Picoult, John Grisham, Danielle Steel and James Patterson, but none of them flashed into my eyes. I'm not sure either BBW didn't store it or it's finished already because we were quite late to join the rush (wish I can be there on the FIRST day!). However I managed to ask one of the worker if they are stocking Sophie Kinsella in the sale, she said nope, but they do stock Medeleine Wickham! But I was almost at the exit at that time and my feet hurt and I don't have the energy to go back and looking for the books uwaaaaaaa... Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing any of her book, hmm maybe it's sold out already *sigh*

I only bought 5 books for me and surprise surprise surprise, MrComot also bought some! He's not much a reader ok. So when he decided to buy something, I chuckled right away, mcm tak percaya je. But according to him, it's quite latest and too cheap to pass.

Oh ya, after out of BBW, we saw this one book shop at the same level and give it a try. Surprisingly it's quite cheap! Although obviously can't beat BBW. The new novel is priced at RM17.90 and bukan novel bodoh-bodoh tau. Some of them is IN one, like from Cecelia Ahern and Sophie Kinsela but the choice is quite limited. Not all the titles are available. But worth enough for you to check it out.

The gem we discovered

Sesuai sangat the bunting. Oh ya..still beatable but during warehouse sale la. Normal sale still can't beat them.

Anyway this is catches of that day:

From BBW:
Easy Knitted Socks - RM10
Knitted Critters for Kids to wear -RM10
BOTNETS - RM15
Aggressive Networks Self-Defense - RM15
Riding Shotgun - RM5
The Pagan Stone (Nora Roberts) - RM8
Quack Quack (Children book) - RM5

MrComot told me that the two thick books (botnet and network thingy) is very expensive, about RM80 and above and they selling it at RM15? Macam tak percaya ok. Oh ya..itu MrComot punya, mine yang mengarut2 tu la..knitting la, like helooooooooooo, when I'm going to knit? But since it is so cheap, I make it as investment la, who knows, sooner or later I will knit ha-ha-ha!

And the baby book we bought it because it is super cuteness!

For the baby in my belly :P

I also get a few from other shops that sebab tak puas hati hehehe

The Long Road Home - RM17.90 from XCESS
Shopaholic&Baby and Cocktails for Three - both about RM27 each after 15% discount at Popular. Ok la kan..normal price around 31-33. However, if the cocktails for three ada dekat BBW that day and I missed it, memang COCK laa.. hahaha

Talking about the books, I'm not a big fan of Danielle Steel, tapi The Long Road Home ni mmg I cari dah lama. I've read it once and fell in love with it totally, a very heartbreaking story. I tried to locate it few times to add on my collection but failed, kat MPH, Borders, Kino semua takde, you have pre-order so macam malas la. Tak sangka jumpa kat XCESS. Another tittle that I'm searching is Message From Nam (also DS), so in any case you guys found it, beep me ok?

And about Sophie Kinsella, I am officially have all the titles!! Except for Shopaholic Takes Manhattan. Hmm..mcm berat hati nak beli at normal price haha..maybe I can look up at another Popular branch. (Ps: Being frugal is fun :P)

Oh ya, pasal shopaholic collection ni, I remembered that pernah dapat one comment about the duplicity:

mizzhiga said...

hi..i also have the complete series of teh shopaholic..btw, i rasa "confession of shopaholic" and "secret dreamworl of shopaholic" is the same story with different title, isn't it?..sorry kalau salah :D enjoy.. ;)

January 15, 2009 9:01 PM

Hi mizzhiga! (If you are still reading my blog, haha). Yes you are 110% right. It's the same story with different title! Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....how do I know.. Hmm so, now I'm thinking, should I re-sell it (it is totally NEW!) or just give away as a gift. Hmmmhmmhmhmhmhm.. But to who? Nantilah..I fikir-fikir kan :)

Opss before I forgot, the sale ends on 2nd Dec!!! Quick go grab the wolf! :D

Jualan Gudang My Dear

We went to My Dear warehouse sale in Puchong last Saturday. I was a bit hesitate at first because when they say My Dear, I only imagine My Dear things being sold. Not that I have anything against My Dear, but I like to keep my option open as we still need to survey. Luckily MrComot insisted and thank God for that because we made 2 major purchase that day!

The warehouse is like a warehouse sale should be. Very stuffy and hot!! The place is stuffed with shoppers, mommies to be exact! with their huge bellies. I was almost fainted after 2 hours, like seriously. So if you want to go, be aware of your condition. Nasib baik ada pakcik jual aiskrim outside hihihihi.

The process quite systematic though, the staff will write down your order on a resit, then you go line up to pay and then got another queue for you to collect.

Below is the general view of the warehouse sale.

It is a lonnnngg hall

Parents trying out the strollers. Got few brands that we noticed - My Dear, Mamalove, and Capella. Mamalove and Capella tu mcm tumpang la..they just help to sell on behalf.

Playpens, bouncers and cot.

Car seats. Only My Dear brand I think.

Not so many choices. After all I know nothing about toys, so no comment.

MrComot, queuing to pay.

At collection queue.

I read reviews in shoppingnsales that this warehouse is suck (edited: sorry I read the wrong comments! It was for 2008. So far no bad comments for 2009) but I will say it's good because I get to buy things that we wanted. So I guess it depends on what things you are looking for.

Anyway we bought baby cot and stroller from this warehouse! They will be separate entries about it later.

Macy's Fabric Sofa Sale

This will be a total not me entry. Yeah if you know me..I am not the shopping type or whatever. Anyway really really need to share you this great news.

Macy is having big sale for their fabric sofas and it only lasts for 4 days!! (starting since Saturday).

This is no hoax or tipu whatever. Because we've been eyeing this one sofa for living room since last year! So we went to Macy like, all the time (everytime we go to Ikano, mesti singgah) just to check on the price and see the discount. They never mark-up their price even when they are on sale so the sale is valid!

We were there when they had this end-of-year sale and nothing much on sofas, only curtain was on big discount. So we put our plan on hold. We went there again in April where there have 15% for all the stuff which is not bad! We were tempted to take the sofa until I asked one of the worker

Me: Will you have more discount on that sofa? *pointing to sofa we want*
Macy Guy: Yes..we'll have specifically for sofa in July but I don't know how much the discount yet. Macy hasn't reveal the info.

So we decided to wait because we have a feeling it's going to be a better deal. Yesterday we went to Ikano and spent 3 and half hours alone in Macy choosing the fabric because finally we purchased the sofa! Itupun sebab we went there quite late around 6.30PM and had to settle because it's already 10PM. Kalau pegi dari pagi mesti the whole day we'll be there.

They have this buy 3 seaters at the price of 2 seaters, 2 seaters at the price of one seater and one seater with 30%. For all fabric sofas!

We also checked the price before discount and it's the same with last year's price and the discount is freaking generous.

So babes, if you are looking for fabric sofas, go check out Macy now (remember, this promotion only for 4 days, so it will end this Tuesday!). It's really worth it. The quality, the workmanship, the fabric and the price!

An Ode to my GirlFriends

I've been fully occupied these days. There are so many things that I wanna pour down but everytime I starting to write, I went blank. Too many event is starting to loose its track. But I will try to make it up, sooner or later. Just a matter of time. At least, it will be my personal record.

I had a girlfriend outing yesterday and it was fantastic!

I don't really have bestfriends though. Really. But these 3 are the closest ever. Hmm.. I want to take them as my bestfriends, but I rarely call, sms, email, or any sort of contact that don't give me the privilege to use the title. I also don't have any idea how's your life, problems, love life, etc etc etc. But you guys never mind I am being me (being the don't-care-me), so I am going to say this, all of you are the bestest friends. Ever. That I couldn't ask for more.

Ahhh.. I'm being sappy. Ok back to the happy moment.

Looking back yesterday, we just did the routine, lunch, movie, shopping, chatting. But it was fabulous! Maybe because it's quite long we didn't see each other. The most important thing is, all of us wearing gedik clothes! Hmm susah nak explain. I need to show some pics for you guys to visualize but heck, we didn't snap any full-pose pic, boleh?? Arghhhhhh..

The lunch is yummylicious as usual. We had scrumptious asam prawn, belacan brinjal, foo yong egg and rice at Mdm Kwan. But... the waiter who served us bodoh ok! Tiba2 emotional when I remember it. He put the plates roughly. Macam lempar2 tu. Siap ada bunyi ok when the ceramic meets the wooden table.

I don't know lah if it is just me or he is really hmm..rude. But Rena said the same thing! So he IS rude. No way lah I am coming to Mdm Kwan MidV after this, unless no choice.
Below is some of the pictures while waiting at Mdm Kwan.
Hey, what's up? Guess who?
(Can you see the baju gedik in shocking pink :P)

I am froggie the umbrella!

Konichiwaa!!

That's the last pics taken. Mielia's froggie umbrella. A souvenir from Japan frm the boss. Cute isn't it? After that lupa nak snap any pic at all ;(

We were busy doing other activities. We watched Horton Hears a Who?. Rena menangis okkk tengok cerita ni. Well, me too but that's exceptional because I even cried watchin Mukhsin. Hmm.. apsal lahh kann. Anyway, Mielia and Shani, you guys cried as well right? Cover pulakkk :P

Hmm what else? Oh ya, the shopping spree is ridiculous ok! I got this linen pant from Arcadia off to 60% which take it down to RM23 something. It's freaking cheap! So I made a wise decision, bought colors that I won't buy at normal price. So I have this TWO shades of pink. Lighter and darker. The darker one looks like datin2 ok..and I can wear it only with white shirts I think. I wonder when I am going to wear it *sigh*. Well, the lighter one also only can match with white shirts. Duh~ But it is so cheapo so tak kisah lah kan. And I am wearing 8 now!! It's a stupid Large ok! I was in S before. It's a bit longar for me but M is a no-no. Too tight and not comfy anymore. Hmmm..but I still can fit in 3 for shirts. Hmmhmmmm... not good, not good. I need to do the yoga thingy ASAP.

We end our meeting with takoyaki in the car. It is soooo yummylicious! I am addicted to it now!

I love you girlsssssssssss!!!!

Even though I rarely keep in touch, that doesn't mean I don't care about you guys. It is just me. I don't get attached to people. This entry also goes to all my close friend. And my new friends. You know who you are ;)

I do love you all. It is just me ;)

The Fantabulous Penang

Penang is fantastic and fabulous, as ever. 2 things that I can always brag about Penang is the food and the cheap bargain. When I said cheap, it's really, really cheap.

The last trip to Penang was a short one, as it's on work purpose. However, I managed to tour as many places as I can. I went to the butterfly farm (it's cheesy right? :P). Well, the last time I visit the park is like 10 years ago, and I still find it's fascinating for this 2nd trip. Overall, it's only full of many types butterfly. But it's really exciting when u try to find different types of butterflies. We were like 'ehhh..yg ni dah amik gambar?', 'hey, have u seen this? the blue one', 'aaaa...comeynyaa.. it got batik design on the wing', etc.

Ain't it gorgeous?

Sharing the lunch

The most memorable part is when suddenly a butterfly volunteering park at your hands. It's soooo sweet, I tell ya. From what we read in the gallery, sometimes the butterflies stop on the sand to get the mineral, so I guess the one that parked at my hands was trying to get the salt from my sweat. It's so humid inside that I went sweating like a morning jog.

Searching for minerals

Hunting for food is quite plain for this trip. We only go trial and error. Some is satisfying, some is frustrating. Anyhow, if you are in Penang, don't forget to try USM cafeteria, the Keow Teow Th'eng at Fajar Harapan. The clear soup is really mouth-watering.

I had full bowl of koay teow with chicken sausage, fish cake, chicken shred, and fish ball at only RM 3.++

There are another places I would like to recommend, Char Koay Teow at Bukit Mertajam. Location is hard to map out here but if you are there, maybe you can ask the local or your Penangites friends. No picture taken as the lights went off at that time and we were having the famous dish in small light of candle, plus the roadside lights.

What made me quite frustrated is I missed the chance to taste the Mee Udang, Laksa Penang and Nasi Lemak Bukit Jambul --> Lauk ikan sambal gila vavis sedap oke. Kecewa tau. Nanges. But I hope I can eat all of them when I go back to Penang.

Ok, let's brag about the cheapo bargain.

DVDs is UNBELIEVEABLE cheap okkkkk!! I almost faint at the DVD stall after knowing the price. You can get RM4 per peace without having to haggle like mad auntie. Remember the CSI box set I bought before? That was in KL (well, I thot KL is already cheap lor) and after bought 6 boxes that I only given RM50 per box. Per box is like 5 DVDs. So RM10 per piece. In Batu Ferringhi Night Market, the box set is only RM20! Nanges! Some more, if u buy 10 pieces (RM40) get one free. Nanges again! But of course la without the nice box, but of course you don't mind right.
I always download the series because it's free kan, but since it's only RM20, why not. I grabbed 2 seasons of NipTuck and few movies and audio CD. The Modern Talking is giler rare ok!! I searched down and low to download but couldn't find the whole album. Of course la u can buy it in music store but it's RM40 okk.

I will come back to Penang in the future for the collectible DVD of series. Wishlist; Ally McBeal, Desperate Housewives, Prison Break, Veronica Mars, Le Femme Nikita, and Boston Legal (The list is increasing). BTW, do anyone of you know where can I get The Nanny? I've been drooling for this since dulu2 lagi but couldn't find it.

Annnndd another bargain that we need to cheer real loud is the BOOKS! I know you can get 2nd hand books at decent price easily here. But how about you can get totally new book with 2nd hand's price? Chowrasta Bazaar never stop to amuse me. Last time I went there to get my Tintin collection. They sell it at RM20 per piece, compared to market price, RM29.90. I once asked about Asterix, but they don't have it.

And during this trip, I just asked my luck and guess what, they have it!

It's priced at RM44.90/piece at normal bookstore (Kino, MPH) and I got this for RM25 per piece okkk!! And still in plastic wrapper. Since my Tintin collection is completed, I plan to collect Asterix next, but it got about 100++ (or more? not sure sbb dah byk sgt).

Annnnd I also bought this, new title from Jodi Picault at RM20 (pitam!). 2 pieces from Ramlee Awang Mursheed. The towkey gave me RM10 per piece. Giler saiko okeh. Normal price is RM19.90/piece. The best deal I ever get for Malay novels pun during sale, like 15-20% less. But never at flat ten.

I was almost out of the shop (it was already 8PM and it's on the way to close), that I saw two pieces of this Beano Books, and I grabbed both. The other one titled Robbers and Cops. He gave me RM5 per piece! It's hard cover tau, and 100% colored. Suitable for kids or light reading.

If you wish to go to Chowrasta, it is next to Komtar. You have to climb up the jenjantas and it's in front of a big police station. It is on the 1st level. Walk until the end of the floor and you will see the shops, selling books. The ground floor is the pickle fruits heaven. I also bought jeruk Salak and Kedondong but no pic, dah abes makan, terlupa nak snap :P

There are more places I wish I have the time to go, especially the small antique shops selling rare jeweleries and accessories.

Worry not, Penang, see u sooner or later ;)
